Well just some fun speculation. Let's take a look shall we?
Gary Kubiak-Former Houston Texans HC Long time head coach of the Houston Texans that saw his tenure come to an end when the team imploded. Slam dunk hire that would keep similar schematics with the team. Personally, I feel he's going to take a year off due to his health, but he's still an option
Rick Dennison-Former Houston Texans OC Long time coordinator in the NFL both in Denver and Houston. Much the same reason to hire him as Kubiak.
Ben McAdoo-Green Bay Packers QB coach Young coach at 37 that has been an NFL assistant for nearly a decade. Linked to the job early. Former assistant under Joe Philbin at Green Bay. Has a good reputation among his players. Downside is he's never been a playcaller as a coach.
Rob Chudzinski Former Cleveland Browns HC Former coach and player at the University of Miami. Has shown great promise as an OC, but playcalling is up and down. Would require a complete change in the scheme. Chud is currently collecting a paycheck for being fired by Cleveland and can be selective in where he wants to work.
Bill Musgrave- Soon to be former Minnesota Vikings OC Musgrave had an up and down tenure with the Vikings. Some numbers were inflated by Adrian Peterson, while some are also hurt by a lack of talent outside of AP on the offensive side. Longtime known as a QB guru and heavily endorsed by Matt Ryan. Has shown a knack for creative playcalling due to having to use a lot of smoke and mirrors.
Ken Zampese- Cincinnati Bengals QB Coach Cincy QB coach for the last decade. Former passing game coordinator for the Rams when they were the Greatest Show on Turf. Understudy of names like Mike Martz, Al Saunders, Hue Jackson, and Mike McCarthey. Never been a true OC, but known as a QB guru.
Bill Lazor- Philadelphia Eagles QB Coach Younger coach at 41. NFL expereince in the West Coast Offense both at Seattle and Washington, as well as limited in Philadelphia (while not a WCO, Kelly does use WCO principles). Has OC experience both at University of Buffalo and Virginia, unfortunately neither was overly successful. Known as a decent QB coach.
Ken Dorsey- Carolina Panthers QB Coach Extremely young coach with ties to the area. Before working as QB coach in Carolina he was a scout for IMG academy and helped train players for the combine and the draft. Probably still a little raw for the job, but a name worth looking at.
Hue Jackson- Cincinnati Bengals RB Coach Former Oakland Raiders head coach. Known as a good WCO coach and has been a good positional coach wherever he's gone. Almost got the Oakland Raiders to the playoffs a few years ago. Bit of an ego problem, but known as a guy who will develop his players.
Dowell Loggains- Former Tennessee Titans OC Young 33 year old coach that was promoted to OC last year and had been QB coach since 2010. Had Jake Locker looking really good until he was injured again. After Locker went down, the offense never looked great, but young pieces started to look good.
Norv Turner- Soon to be former Cleveland Browns OC? If he becomes free why not? Absolutely mediocre HC but can work wonders with an offense if given free reign. Only downside is we'd probably have to hire his son Scott as well. But it'd be worth a look.
Kyle Shanahan-Former Washington Redskins OC Some are high on him some aren't. Kyle looked like a future star in Houston, and showed good ability to adapt to talent early in Washington under his dad, but it all went to hell this year. Personally think he'd be a decent hire, but understand those who are against it.
Scott Linehan-Former Detroit Lions OC Had success here in the past. Great passing offenses and will get big plays. Tends to be hotheaded at times and give players too much free reign. Would require a change from the West Coast Offense.
Chad Morris-Clemson OC Much like Gus Malzahn, Morris was a long time high school coach that made the transition to being a college coach. He actually replaced Gus at Tulsa after Gus moved to Auburn, now at Clemson. Morris's offenses are all high octane, and going from college to the pros is always a risk. Also a candidate for a few college HC openings.
Mike Groh-Chicago Bears WR Coach Young coach at 42, and a former QB in the NFL (granted only 1 year). Former assistant under his dad at Virginia, and was given the duties of OC before he was ready. Since has spent time learning under Charlie Strong, Nick Saban, and Marc Trestman. Maye be a bit of a jump, but loved by his players.
Dan Campbell-Miami Dolphins TE Coach I don't actually believe Campbell is an actual candidate, but I felt that I should list one in house name, and I felt Campbell was the one name that people would complain the least about.
Dunno how many if any are legit candidates, but I figured some would pique interest.
