Before you laugh at this, let me explain:
In the past several seasons in the NFL, the Wild Card teams are usually the ones who get hot at the right time and march toward the Super Bowl. Go back to Pittsburgh in 2006, beating the Seahawks as the No. 6 seed in the playoffs.
2 years ago, the Giants were a Wild Card team and beat the 'unbeatable' Packers in the 2nd round, and went on to beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
This is not an uncommon trend. Miami has been blown out in only one game this year (MNF vs Saints), and have proven they have a team that can compete with anyone. It comes down to just closing it out. If 'Fins win 3 of next 4 and sneak into the playoffs as the #6 seed, do not be surprised if they make a similar run to the Super Bowl.
And for all who say Ryan Tannehill isn't ready yet---Ben Roethlisberger was in his 2nd year as a pro when he won that Super Bowl! As a #6 seeded team! Our defense has the potential to shut teams down, and if we can get ANY sort of running game or consistent offensive line going for the rest of the season....watch out. NO ONE will want to face the 'Fins in the playoffs. And we'll all be able to forget about the embarrassing loss to the Bucs, and the tumult of the Martin/Incognito scandal.
So...who agrees with me? Don't tell me this doesn't seem eerily similar to some teams' situations in the past. Believe in Miami!!
