A guy on WQAM said the murder charges may not be as strong as some believe so they are looking for a fall back option. He also said Pouncey better not go into this unprepared thinking he's just a witness. So it was kind of a contradictory message overall.

I don't buy that one bit! First they never would have moved on a high profile celebrity that quick without lining their ducks up. Second no one knows because they case is sealed. Seriously like I said in another thread no pre trial no discovery, but all the media speculating it's weak? Not likely do you think for one minute the States Attorney was going to rush a weak case against Hernandez a young NFL Star not even in his prime that just signed a 40 million dollar extension and most likely had one more of that magnitude possibly two? The only ones leaking a weak case our Hernandez lawyers and that is their job to generate doubt anyway possible. The fact that bail wasn't even a option speaks volumes.

How do you feel about the "secrecy" of the government when they leak **** about Pouncey to the media? It is a ****ing joke. The government is out of control nowadays.

...and there is nothing that says the government has to grand stand and show up to the damn stadium to serve him. Go to his hotel or when he is at the airport. Greet him going to the locker room? Jerk move.

I don't know that any media was alerted. There was media present, but given where he was served that isn't unusual. As far as I know, it's a state grand jury (not federal) since this is being investigated by the police. The state police routinely serve subpoenas and they knew Pouncey would be in the state that day. Why wouldn't they take advantage of that rather than fly to Florida and go through the trouble of tracking him down? It makes sense that they did it before he left the stadium because again that saves them the trouble of tracking him down.

It's only a leak if there's a gag order issued by the judge handling the case. Absent of that, the prosecutors can reveal anything they like, as can Pouncey and his attorneys.

Don't bet on it. A number of reports have suggested that Mike Pouncey was Aaron Hernandez's closest friend in Gainesville (and he was stupid enough to wear the Free Hernandez cap to protest his buddy's innocence).

Prosecutors are elected officials which by definition makes them liars, cheats and jerks of the first order. The last place you want to be is between a politician and reporters.

You don't know that and neither does the Mass State Police. What they do know is their subject was I their jurisdiction and they served it. Would you be this outraged if they served Geno Smith?
