Just finished watching the Carolina game for the 4th time (i have no life) and i must say, Pouncey is a stud. Watch him play from the beginning, and watch nothing BUT him, and you will see an already elite center. Watched him tons at Florida, and while i'm no Gator fan, he is straight up NASTY. He dominates whomever he is up against, and looks to punish and finish plays. I think this is HUGE for Henne. This guy is as confident as they come, and stays pumped throughout the entire game. I think his attitude, his confidence, his SWAGGER, should really rub off on this offense. Sure seems like it did in this game.

Long, Incognito, Pouncey...that is one nasty side of the O-line. I think Carey will do well this year, but i do have concerns regarding the right side. We shall see...

But love Pouncey anchoring this line. Any qualms or reservations i had about him and picking him at 15 are long gone. He opened massive holes and was playing with a lust for blood. I liken his moxy to a young Kevin Mawae

That's not the game I saw. In the Panther game I saw, Pouncey got pushed around quite a bit, and his goal line play was weak. Actually I was thinking about how he's going to handle NE's monsters in the middle after seeing him go against Ellis and Fua who are a 2nd year and rookie combo.

And I think you go with Garner and Murtha on the other side. At least those two have a non-lazy approach to the game.

Remember, though, that he has extremely little experience in goal line situations against NFL talent. There's no reason why we should think what we're seeing right now from Pouncey on the goal line is any indication of what he'll be like in that area long-term.

i agree bro, pouncey is a beast and i love the pick by ireland.

The repeated attempts at getting into the end zone on that particular drive are the only thing you can point to. And he is a rookie center...did you fail to notice the size of the holes he helped create throughout the entire first half? The Dolphins obviously aren't showing any of their red zone offense passing-wise...and the 2nd td, when Daniel Thomas scored, was almost ALL Pouncey. I guess you failed to notice that too. If you watched the game, you watched him be a stud. If you feel otherwise, than either you don't know what a top notch center looks like, or you have something against Pouncey. He moves his man, and did so throughout the game...consistently. Carolina played the first TD stacked in the middle, not worrying about anything or anyone else. That won't be the case in the regular season.

You might be on to something there. I think that combo is at least as formidable as Carey/Colombo.

I like Pouncey, what I saw was a big agile guy who could get to the 2nd level quick and with an attitude but I agree with the other poster, he wasnt able to move guys at the point of attack....I think this is his weak area but something that will be corrected as the season moves on....I am sure he is hitting the weight room working on his lower body strength and it will take time before he will be able to move them big NT. But that will not be the focus of this team, we will run off tackle and sweeps and this is what he will excel at.....I have no worries about this line, by week 6-7 it will be a top 5 OL if they stay healthy.....I like Columbo at RT and love the move of Carey inside.....and I agree with you comparison to Mawae, very similar styles

His goal line play was not as bad as being advertised 3 out of 5 plays down there his assignment was not to get a push but rather to hold the block and try to get low and almost chop block the Defensive man he was engeged with as Thomas and Hilliard tried to leap over the line. Its not a coincidence that all 5 of the lineman end up on the floor in unison on those plays

Pouncey did fine. We ran the same exact play like 4 times in the row at the goal line. We went right each time. I imagine Sparano was challenging Carey to move his big asssss. If we would have went left we would have only needed 1 or 2 shots at it. Like I said, I think Sparano wanted to see what the Right side of the Oline could really do.

Pouncey is a beast! All he has done is come in and take on the most difficult position on the oline and do an awesome job! Wait till he actually learns the Ins and outs, he will dominate!

what i noticed is that pouncey as well as others just pushed the entire Dline to right while RB's cut back left. Pouncey seals off nice. It will only get better. Once he settles in he will get snaps better and consistent. They really had Solia pound his *** hard in practice.

I would say Pouncey played pretty good and alot better then the 1st game.He needs to practice snapping the ball in both shotgun and qb on center.Quality pick and if we didnt get him Pitt had him on their plate.

I've only watched the game once. I do remember him whiffing badly on a running play where he was pulling. I think he's going to be good, but there are still some growing pains to go through.
