Pounceys snaps

His twin is a probowl center. I think he should play at that level also. This shouldn't be a concern. I would rather have a probowl center over a guard anyday.

Cool article on the brothers.

It was probably a lot harder on our mother than on us,” Maurkice Pouncey said. “As long as we got back together for P.E., we were OK. But that’s how much we were together, and how worried she was about us.”

But the uniqueness doesn’t end there. The Pounceys also represent a statistical oddity, an intersection of two of the rarest characteristics a person can possess. The math is inexact, but this much is clear: about 1-in-30 pregnancies result in multiple births, and only a fraction of those produce identical twins, according to the National Center for Health Statistics. And less than one percent of teenage boys end up playing big-time football.

Since professional football began in the United States, 313 sets of brothers have appeared in a pro game through the end of the 2006 NFL season, according to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Archives and Information Center. Ten of those sets of brothers were twins, including the famous Barbers, cornerback Ronde of the Bucs and former Giants running back Tiki.

But the Pounceys’ playing together gives them an intrinsic edge most other twins don’t enjoy, said Nancy Segal, one of the nation’s leading experts on the relationship between twins.

Identical twins have genes in common, Segal said, meaning they process information the same way. It follows, then, that one would know the others’ thoughts, and be able to predict his actions, based on a given situation. And that could provide an advantage against a blitz, a stunt, or any defensive strategy.
