Here they are, the Final Power Rankings for the '05 season. Enjoy :D

The Drum Roll: What a great year it has been. Even though we didn't make the playoffs all I can see is blue sky's for this team. We have had our ups a downs from the highest ranking of the year of 13 in week 5 to the lowest ranking of 25 in week 12. Much improved from last year when we could not even get above 28.

I would like to thank all of you that read this post every week and have kept it bumped and have given positive feedback. It is much appreciated. It has been fun and if God willing, I will start these again next season. I already have some plans on expanding this post even more.

Lastly I would like to let you guys know that I went and found a few of these threads I did last season and posted them in the archive section. I thought you may get a kick out of the comments and rankings. We have come a long way already.

Dolphins Rank: 14 (+3)

Comment: Did Gus Frerotte earn himself a starting job next season with six straight wins to finish the season?

Dolphins Rank: 16 (+1)

Comment: For this team to win nine games is amazing. In two more years, Nick Saban will have the Dolphins pushing for a Super Bowl.

Fox Sports

Dolphins Rank: 17 (+1)

Comment: Reasons for optimism: They weren't all impressive, but six straight wins to end the season is always a good sign. Strong running back committee, and Ronnie Brown should be even better next year. Nick Saban seems like a chip off the old Belichick. Defense ranked ninth overall but 24th on third downs, a strong indicator for improvement the following year (Other teams that fit this trend included the 1998-9 Rams, 2000-1 Patriots and 2002-3 Patriots.)
Reasons for pessimism: Need quarterback. (Seriously, Cleo Lemon?) Still in the same division as the Patriots.

Comment:
OK, they progressed from 4-12 to 9-7 this year. Next season, proceeding via the same arithmetic progression, they will be 14-2. In 2007 they will be 19-and-minus three, a very scary prospect for sure.

Comment: Late-season win streak looks great for next year.
