Here they are, the Power Rankings for week 1. Enjoy :D
The Drum Roll: Finally!! Time to dust off the old Power Rankings thread and just in time for the new season. I have not been this excited for a season in a loooong time. Considering I love Dolphins football, that’s saying something.
The rankings for the first week will be a bit slim, some of the regular rankings have not been updated yet but I’m sure they will be up and running in a week. If any of you know of any good, consistently updated power rankings you would like to see averaged in to this thread, please let me know.
Anyway, on with the Rankings! Remember, that the rankings fluctuate during the first few weeks. For kicks, you can read what writers thought about us for the past 2 seasons in the arcive section of theis post.
Later and GO FINS!!!!! :D
Average Dolphin Rank: 13 (+3 from last season)
Next opponent: Pittsburgh.
Average Ranking: 2
Average Rank for '06 Season So Far :13

Dolphins Rank: 9
Comment: All indications out of Miami are that Daunte Culpepper has been better than the Dolphins could have hoped. It'll be interesting to see whether losing a little mobility will hurt his game.

Dolphins Rank: 12
Comment: There are a lot of questions for this trendy team. Getting Daunte Culpepper was a great move, but the line is so-so, the defensive front has age and the secondary is inexperienced.

Dolphins Rank: 17
Comment: I should add that I don't think the projection system is fully accounting for the upgrade at quarterback here, and the Dolphins are better than this. Two important issues that people rarely mention when discussing Miami as a playoff contender: excellent special teams (especially the coverage units) and a very easy schedule.
