The Drum Roll:
It's that time of year again, a brand new season and a brand new start to the power ranking threads. This will be the 5th season I have done these and still look forward to making them as much as ever.

As always this thread is a compilation of various power rankings around the net. I show the Site, sites web address, Phin ranking and the comment the author made about the phins (if there is one). I also keep track of the weekly and over all season ranking for the dolphins.

This year I am going to try and create another thread where I post my own Rankings. Look for that to start next week.

Enough bla-didi-blah. On with the rankings!

Later and GO FINS!!!!!

Average Dolphin Rank: 17 (-)
'09 Season Highest Rank : 17 (week 1)
'09 Season Lowest Rank :
17 (week 1 )

Next Opponet: Atlanta Falcons

Current Rankings:

ESPN
http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/week/1
Dolphins Rank: 16 (-)

Comment: The Dolphins hope to avert the three-game drop that usually hits a team that goes from worst to first in a division. (Clayton)

CBS Sports Line

Dolphins Rank: 19 (-)

Comment: They're a year away. The schedule is tougher and they will come back a little to .500. They will be a force in 2010.

Don Banks (This used to be Dr.Z's Rankings, But he suffered a stroke last year.)

Dolphins Rank: 15 (-)

Comment: Doesn't it seem as if last year didn't really happen and Jason Taylor never wore a Washington Redskins uniform? The whole episode seems to have just vanished into the ether, with Taylor back to being a Dolphins team leader and no one ever mentioning that him and Bill Parcells got sideways over the whole "Dancing with the Stars" stuff. Weird, huh?

About.com

Dolphins Rank: 17 (-)

Comment: Tony Sparano and Bill Parcells have done a great job adding talent, but it will be tough for this team to match last year's 11 wins.

Dolphins Rank: 17 (-)

Comment:
The Dolphins are a wily team to put your finger on, so here are a series of words that you can draw your own conclusions from: tough, robust, limited, inconsistent, Henne. Up Next: Atlanta Falcons

Fox Sports
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/powerRankings
Dolphins Rank: 19 (-)

Comment:
SUMMER STRENGTH: Despite losing two starters from last year's solid secondary, the Dolphins deftly restocked in free agency (CB Eric Green from Cardinals, S Gibril Wilson from Raiders) and the draft (CBs Vontae Davis and Sean Smith). Against the Randy Moss-Wes Welker duo in New England plus T.O.-Lee Evans in Buffalo, Miami will need all hands on deck.
CAMP CONCERN: Chad Pennington could use someone to emerge at camp this summer at wide receiver, preferably former first-rounder Ted Ginn Jr.
COOL STAT: By improving from 1 win in 2007 to 11 wins in 2008, the Dolphins joined the 1999 Colts as the only teams in history to make 10-game improvements from one season to the next.

Dolphins Rank: 16 (-)

Comment:
The Dolphins went from 1-15 to 11-5 in one season, but it is going to be hard to repeat that success in 2009. In 2008 they had the the fewest turnovers in the NFL and went 7-1 against the AFC West and NFC West, which were easily the two worst divisions in football.

The Dolphins draw the toughest schedule in the NFL this year, which should reduce their win totals slightly. The Dolphins aren’t going to sneak up on anyone this year, so QB Chad Pennington and RB Ronnie Brown are going to need to have their best seasons to survive this schedule.

This is such an awesome feature you give us evry year. I speak for everyone when I say...THANK YOU!

Thanks alot SirDrums. I look forward to this every year. Also here's hoping Dr. Z can recover fully from the stroke and return to work. He's one of the best imo.
