Dolphins Rank: 16 (-2)

Comment:Their lackluster victory over the Rams was the only Week 13 triumph among AFC East clubs, putting them one game out of first place. (TG)

Dolphins Rank: 15 (-)

Comment: Their soft schedule had really kept them in the playoff hunt. They essentially play a playoff game this week against the Bills in Toronto. The loser is pretty much done.

The last team to win 10 games in a season one year after winning just one game was the 1963 Raiders from the ol' AFL days. 45 years later, Miami has a real shot at performing the feat, but a lot rides on their two remaining division games against Buffalo this week and at the Jets in the season finale. COOL STAT: In a stat Bill Parcells surely loves, the Dolphins have turned the ball over an NFL-low 10 times this season. THIS WEEK: at Bills (6-6)javascript:void(0);

Comment: Dolphins running back Ricky Williams will return to Toronto -- the city where he briefly played for the Canadian Football League's Argonauts -- on Sunday when the Bills host the Dolphins north of the border. For the record, Williams had 109 carries for 526 yards as an Argonaut.

Comment: How do you win and still drop two spots in the CHFF Power Rankings? By needing a late interception to preserve a victory over the woeful Rams.

The Dolphins win over the Rams in Week 13 was their fifth of their past six games. Who would have ever thought the Dolphins would be in this position after going 1-15 in 2007? With match-ups against the Bills, 49ers, and Chiefs before season’s end, the Dolphins will be shooting for the ten win mark. My hat is off to Bill Parcells and Tony Sparano for turning this club around at such a radical pace.

Just how good will the Dolphins become after Bill Parcells has three offseasons under his belt?

I suggested in last week's blog that the Dolphins should try and play defense. And what do you know, they listened!

If the Bills win, both teams would be 7-6. How would that make the Dolphins done if they lost? (assumption)

I am no expert but from what I read; if the dolphins lose they are essentially done.

I think the bills are out reguardless so I dont see how winning would help them much.

I think espn hates the dolphins..tell me u guys have noticed this also....whenever they rank us they move us up one week but the next week they will be quick to put a team ahead of us that we have beaten (patriots, broncos) or has the same record (vikings skins pats broncos cardinals)....it seems that whenever we have the same record as any other team we'll be behind those teams..... to be honest this is my rankings from Baltimore down

ravens
cardinals
Miami
Pats
skins
Vikings
broncos

we all know if the eagles didn't tie then we would be even lower lol

I got news for you. Virtually the entire media outsdie of S FL hates them too. Especially the '72 team.

Notice how there was barely amention of the Titans going undefetaed this season ? In 07 the 4-letter had the Pats 18-0 after the 9th week and never let off it. I'm sure the suits had the "Pats are the greatest team ever" shows already into production and were ready to drive the steak into the ledgend that si the '72 team once and for all.

But they'd have the same record so if the Phins were screwed, so would the Bills.

yes,

I the dolphins lose, we are done as far as I know.

that would mean the bills are done no matter what.

lol, espn says we're the worst 7-5 team out of 6 who are. Alrighty then. Hey didn't we just beat the Donkos in their stadium? They leapfrog us because they went out and beat the Jets? Wonder who got the short end of the stick in that one.

edit: conveniently the Patsies are the best 7-5 team to ESPN.

Then you obviously didn't see the previous weeks rankings, when they had the Dolphins ranked highest among 6-5 teams, ahead of 5 teams with the same record.

Dont get me wrong, I HATE the Pats. But don't be ignorant of what they did last year. They really were on of the best teams in NFL history last year, no doubt about that one. If it wasn't for a whacked out drive by the Giants and a missed shot from Brady to Moss in the final minutes then it could just have easily been a 19-0 Pats team.

If you want to know why they didn't mention that much about the Titans going undefeated is because clearly they weren't as good a team as the 07 Pats. A lot of close games and a almost loss to a few teams, it just didn't seem likely they would.

BTW, I enjoy these power ranking post. Like I said in a earlier thread, SirDrums is the official Power Ranking Threader Starter Guy.
