The Dolphins keep winning and still control their destiny. (TG)

Comment:
If they win their final two, they win the division. They need to play better than they did against the 49ers on Sunday.

For the second consecutive week, I've lined up the Jets, Patriots and Dolphins right in a row, because I really don't know what else to do with the three-team tie atop the AFC East. Miami is a plucky bunch, but the 49ers did drive the ball up and down the field against the Dolphins, stopping only as they neared the goal line.

How are the Dolphins 9-5 you ask? A little smoke and mirrors for sure, but also plenty of smarts. Football intelligence means knowing your strengths and weaknesses -- so Chad Pennington is not long in the arm? Feature creative short-passing and use your two quality RBs to your advantage, which leads to better ball-control and fewer turnovers. The Dolphins have turned the ball over just 10 times thus far, an NFL record low over a season's first 14 games. COOL STAT: Miami has not allowed an offensive TD in three straight games for the first time since 1973. THIS WEEK: at Chiefs (2-12)

Just 248 total yards for the Fins. Defense has held the opposition out of the end zone in 12 straight quarters.

And speaking of tremendous achievements, Bill Parcells might just be the best general manager (or executive vice president of football operations or whatever they want to call him) in NFL history. This is the second time a 1-15 team has hired Parcells and won nine games the next year. His ability to take terrible teams and instantly turn them into good ones is amazing.

Continuing their stunning turnaround from last season’s 1-15 debacle, the Dolphins have committed just 10 turnovers and have not allowed a touchdown in their last three games.

Dolphins have been squeaking by lately but could be in for a shock at Kansas City.

Speaking of which, let's give it up for the executive of the year! Is there a team Parcells CANNOT fix??? (The Raiders, WITH Al Davis, does not count).

Want hope, Lions fans? Just look to Miami, which could go from one win in '07 to the playoffs.

With the easiest road of the AFC East bunch in the playoff race, the Dolphins are on the verge of putting together one of the most remarkable turnarounds in NFL history. Two road games to close out the year appear to be difficult on the surface, but Miami has actually posted a better winning percentage on the road than at home so far this season. Since winning out can clinch the division, the Dolphins are in a great position provided they can take care of business.
Remaining Schedule: at KC, at NYJ

The Miami Dolphins are the most improved team in the NFL. The Dolphins have the most entertaining offense in the league. Miami's Defense has given up less points than the New England Patriots.

I guess the fact that Ronnie Brown single-handedly btought the NFL a cool 'new' offensive alignment is worth a Pro Bowl trip... but barely.

Alright for SirDrums, This is a Thread I check every week. Good to know what other Football Fans around the Nation think about us. Gives a good view of were the team stands out and what it lacks.

Nice to see us slowly crawling up and getting more recognition. At the same time, it's nice to see the doubters.

Thanks for posting:up:

By the way, Bleacher Report just made me LOL... They say they pick us to win the division, yet they rank the Patsies and Jest ahead of us :sidelol:

Covers.com still are idiots. No surprise.

I know this is off subject but I've been wondering what happened to Dr. Z. That's awful, I hope it wasn't too serious. He's one of the best NFL writers out there. You can always read one of his articles knowing you'll get his true opinions and a lot of knowledge. Unlike the hundreds of other writers who just regurgitate the thing everyone else is saying. Best wishes to him and his family!
Thanks for the rankings as well.

Don hasn't metioned Dr.Z the last two weeks in the rankings. I really hope all is well with him.

What the heck is up with Covers.com ??? They have Houston (7-7, eliminated from playoffs...), San Diego (6-8....), Chicago (8-6), and New Orleans (7-7 eliminated from playoffs) all ahead of the Fins?? LOL??? and then they have the 5-9 packers above the 8-6 Broncos AND the 7-7 Redskins?? what a joke..... what the heck is that site even serious??????

Dolphins are playing like the Fins of the early 70's great to see hard nose football return proud to be a fan since the start
