Here they are, the Power Rankings for week 16. Enjoy :D

The Drum Roll: Doesn't matter if we are out of the Playoffs, we have beat the jets, that is always a plus in my book. This season has been a breath of fresh air and even though we are out I can't help but feel good about this team. The future is bright! :cooldude:

Comment: How many people out there thought the Dolphins would have a realistic shot at finishing .500? Probably not many. Nick Saban will pick up some coach of the year votes.

Comment: This drop in the power rankings is caused by the way the weighting formula works. The opening day upset of Denver just disappeared from the formula entirely, while the upset of Carolina drops in significance. Those are two of Miami's top three games, the other being the San Diego upset. NEXT: vs. TEN

Comment: What is it with them and the Jets? New York took 'em down to the final seconds, and three incompletes on Miami's 14. The Jets gained more yards on them than anyone did except K.C. That's right, they drop two spots after a victory. Bitterness over missing that Champagne luncheon has made me mean.

first off it is amazing that anyone looks at the PR, they are as useless as college polls. Its only opinions, bad formulas that make no sense at all. We are ranked around 18th in most of them yet we have beaten 3 of the top 8 teams! But to be honest what is a PR anyway? Does it mean anything.... NO! I see so many useless post on this topic.

 
I like how fox sports says their ranking are flawed. They said that when we were 2-2 but still above denver too. And when greenbay was ranked really high with 1 win. Maybe they should go back to their old formula cause the new one aint workin.
 
the only thing that matters in this sport is trends. we looked good early, then lost momentum for about 7 games, and now are playing well again.

1) it's refreshing to be peaking in December for a change.
2) who is better than us RIGHT NOW? Maybe 8 teams max. So we're top 10 in my eyes right now.
 
I can't complain with18, but that Fox dude needs a new system. The Ravens and Raiders?????
 
I agree with Audi. Power Rankings are useless, but fun to look at. Next year I see us really contending for the AFC East and opening some eyes around the League and media.
 
The Mor appreciates the way you break down the ranking every week. You rock, awesome thread as usual.
 
Yeah, I felt that given all the wining that we have been doing that the Fox Sports ranking is a bit odd this week. He does explain himself but it is still odd. Its his opinion though.

Did you guys notice that Dr.Z has dropped us two places for not whipping the jets?
