I enjoyed doing these threads last year. Should be more fun this year!!

Here they are, the power rankings for week 2.

Dolphins on the rise! :D

*Edit: Added USA Today Power Rankings - Thanks rainmaker1313!

Espn
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking
Dolphins Rank: 23 (+7)

Comment: Nick Saban said after the Dolphins' opener that the win wasn't about him. Uh, we're not so sure about that Nick.

CBS Sportsline

Dolphins Rank: 22 (+8)

Comment:
We thought this would be a five-victory team, even with a good coach like Nick Saban. That might have to be revised up.

Fox Sports

Dolphins Rank: 28 (+2) *edit* Thanks nublar7

Comment: Have we all underestimated the impact of new offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and his teachings? Did his loss hurt his former team, the Vikings, more than Randy Moss? Hard to say, but if you can squeeze a 275-yard game from Gus Frerotte on a team that scored only 275 points last year (fifth-fewest in the NFL), you just may be a genius. Taking down the Broncos was almost as surprising as the team at No. 29.

Dolphins Rank: 11
Comment: This is what the new era means. The Fish are sitting on a 20-10 lead in the fourth quarter. In the old days they'd run twice, throw a safe pass that falls short of the first down, punt and buckle up to play defense and make a game of it. Nick Saban's new era Dolphins instruct Gus Frerotte to go deep on the first snap, which he does, hitting Marty Booker for a 60-yard TD. Game over. Drive safely on your way home. I mean do I ever love this kind of football.

USA Today

Dolphins Rank: 18 (Tie with Tampa Bay)
Comment: As serious as a Nick Saban news conference.

Grid Iron Grumblings

Dolphins Rank: 4

About.com

Dolphins Rank: 26
Comment: Signs of hope in Miami?

I love the rankings too, but I question the one's that have us ranked at 11 and 4. Very inconsistent with the others in the mid 20....

Well the ones who had us at 4 seem to use an equation of some sort so that could make sense since we had a great game last week.

Grid Iron grumblings goes off pure stats. I like that. Its a change from the One mans opinion kind of Rankings that you mainly see.

if you want real power rankings, find the one's offered by the tout services... these media outlets are all over the board... very weak and impulsive...

Ok we kicked the living dog **** out of Denver and Espn has us ranked lower than Denver.......Hello ??????

I quit going to thier suck site when they made it to wher eyou had to friggin pay money to read Chris Mortenson ( who I think is the best NFL analyst going) had to say.

Sagarin ratings from UsaToday are very good. He has many variables and formulas and goes by the present, not the year's past!

shameless bump.. oh and i deed USA today to the mix... do y'all know any other good Power Rankings I could add to the list for next week?

Thanks.

Never heard of Gridirongrumblings but I like the way they equate the stats to formulate their rankings. Our game was one of the most dominating so its not shock to see us that high. I think what's more of a shock is Washington at #1 on the rankings.

I too enjoy this posting! Please continue to provide them... Each week I go in search of... But some of the sites are difficult to find them on.

Go Fins!!!
