I usually try to post these by Thursday but I have been working so much that I just now got to it.

Here they are, the Power Rankings for week 4. Enjoy :D

Average Dolphin Rank: 15

Next opponent:Buffalo
Average Ranking: 19

Espn

Dolphins Rank: 18 (+5)

Comment: Big game from Ronnie Brown, who -- for one week, at least -- sort of quieted all the critics wondering why the Dolphins didn't draft his former Auburn teammate, Carnell Williams.

CBS Sportsline

Dolphins Rank: 16 (+9)

Comment:
Nick Saban continues to work wonders with this team. And don't forget offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, one of our favorites.

Fox Sports
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/4910694
Dolphins Rank: 14 (+2)

Comment: The league's top run defense DVOA after three games, and it didn't exactly come against cupcake opponents. They stopped the Denver running factory, last year's rushing leader Curtis Martin, and now the Carolina committee. Offense has been delightfully mediocre instead of the train wreck we all expected going into the season. How happy are people who bet the Miami over right now?

Dolphins Rank: 10 (+5)
Comment:
Pre-Panthers, Nick Saban, challenged his premium rookie, Ronnie Brown, who hadn't done much. He said to the writers, obviously as a motivational tool for Brown, that it would take "five years" to see if the kid was worth being the second overall pick in the draft. Well, Brown had a big day Sunday, but mentally, I fast-forwarded to five years from now, and Brown, having collected the full $33 million of his package and wearing the kind of threads that only this kind of money can buy, asks the coach, "So what's the verdict? Was I worth it?"

USA Today

One of the season's big surprises at 2-1.

Dolphins Rank: 19 (+8)
Comment: The Dolphins are actually starting to look like the Patriots’ biggest competition in the AFC East.

very very respectable...absolutely NOTHING to complain about so dont even think about it!

I wouldnt put too much stock in power rankings anyway. They change so much week to week. Lets just see how we do these next few weeks, it should tell us what kind of team we really have I think that we can go 6-2 by mid-season, if so that a great indicator that we have a good team.

Power rankings are a too "what have you done for me lately" barometer. After this week, we will probably fall one or two spots and not even have played. If you think that the power rankings will get us more or better publicity from the main body of media...forget it...they don't look at them either...

Sounds good to me but I don't put too much into what these ANALyst say. I watch the games when I can and hope our team stomps the living crap out of every team we play. If they have a rank of 29 it doesn't matter as long as that other team looks like it was in a dogfight with the beloved Fins and we come out ahead....

We don't need no stinkin rankings.....(in my worst mexican accent)...:drinker:

BTW.....Love the SIG....just too damn funny and I laugh everytime I see it....:goof:

Looking good. I like hearing ' best run defense', I could live with that :D

Wow, Zimm has us ranked #10...those are some nice props....expecially coming off of a 4-12 year with a new coach. :)

no offense to the poster: IMO I just dont think this matters. This stuff is compiled by sports hacks! Homers with an agenda. So what does it matter. The only power ranking I want to see is did we win or lose? Winning is Power.

of course it doesn't matter, but neither does anything discussed on this forum. it's just something to talk about. the more football discussion, the better

Yeah, when we go 3-1 against the Bills I think we'll start getting some serious playoff consideration from the pundits. If we go 4-1 against the Bucs, watch out because Miami is going to start garnering a few "darkhorse" and "team of destiny" remarks. Everyone will start talking about the student (Saban) eclipsing the teacher (Belichick) but I don't think that is fair because even though Saban worked under Belichick in Cleveland, they decided never to do that again because they are friends and consider themselves pretty much colleagues on an equal footing. Saban taught Belichick at least as much as Belichick has taught Saban.

9 (14)Broncos2-1-0Jake Plummer's line (13-18, 152) from Monday night seemed ordinary until you notice the number of TOs -- zero.

12.BRONCOS2-11519181619Game-by-game ratings for this season: -54%, -5%, 48%. The offense has improved each game, the defense has improved each game, and the special teams have improved each game. If they lose this week, they'll be 2-0 in Colorado, 0-2 in Florida, and 0-0 in the other 48 states. NEXT: at JAC

14. Denver Broncos
The Broncos can be effective when Plummer doesn’t turn the ball over.

I post this not to say that the Broncos are better. How could I...they were whipped badly by the Phins in the opener. My point is that these power rankings have two things in common...short memories and favorites. They'll give every benefit of the doubt to teams like the Pats, Eagles, and even the Panthers. How else can you explain a 1-2 Panthers team being ahead of the 2-1 Dolphins...IMMEDIATLEY AFTER BEING BEAT BY THEM? In half of those "power rankings" the Chargers are rated higher than the Broncos and Phins. Hmmmm, Broncos beat em. Phins beat the Broncos. Both teams have a better record. Both teams have an easier schedule.

Somebody earlier said it best...this is good for debate and that's about it. If you put stock into these things the Chefs would have won the SB in 2003, the Steelers last year, and this year the Colts, despite not having a "regular" Peyton Manning will win it. Kudos to those of you that don't put much faith in these rankings. Like the saying goes, things are never as good or as bad as they may seem.

Good luck next week vs the Bills. I think you guys will give them fits. Losman will be in trouble vs your D. Don't hold McGahee to far back though. You may give him 100 and a TD. I NEED THE POINTS! :D

Im just glad to see the Fins out of the bottom tier of teams. ESPN has the Bills 10 spots below us. I know these things dont really mean anything, but I think if we can contain their running game we have a great chance for victory.

Belichek has stated this on several occasions

Can anyone post the remarks made about the Bills on those sites?

For some reason, I can't scroll down on my web pages, so I can't read any of them.
