a stat came out today that said the Dolphins haven't won a september home game since the bubble was opened. I have 2 sides to this argument..coming from both directions to stay fair and not one sided.

1) The bubble has caused a lot of conditioning to be lost it seems, they practice in there when the practices are not open to the public... This gives them a comfortable 75 degrees to work in, so the heat isn't a factor which will hurt them come game time in an outdoor stadium. Thus losing more home games.

2) If the bubble wasn't there, the argument if we lost would be that they didn't practice enough because of the elements (rain, lightning, etc.) thus a calling or outcry would be made for an indoor facility to be built so they can practice indoors.

Either way we would be hurt, so it all comes down to how hard they practice... When i went to the training camp practices it did not seem that they were practicing very hard. Back in the day when i played High School Ball we worked harder.

Just wanted to give my 2 cents

What's a typical NFL schedule for full/half/non-contact? Full contact on wednesdays? Film mon/tues? Walkthrough Thurs? Something like that...

I would think, judging by week 1 games, that we need more full-contact for the next few weeks. It can probably be dialed back as the season goes on.

The Bubble has nothing to do with us losing a game....

On a better Note the NFC south sucked week 1.

not directly, i just think that they need to be practicing outdoors a lot more to get conditioned to the heat. Practice in the bubble only if you have to like during a thunderstorm or something. It just seemed that the defense could breathe so i look right at conditioning.

bubble doesnt make any difference. sparano took it easier on the guys this year tho. for so many years we started strong and finished flat. so is it better to have a well conditioned team in september or a fresh as can be team in january? if u want to win a super bowl or do well in the playoffs the answer is january. but u gotta make it there before it matters. sparano was doing everything he could to win some fans and that started with changing what hasnt worked for this guy. for that he gets credit. the new offensive system is better. they have to run the ball on 3rd and short, but otherwise its better as a whole. he needed to keep the locker room as well. and lets face it he was losing an awful lot of credability. this team hasnt won, and players were openly making comments about his coaching. not good.

the bubble makes no differnce. and its dumb to even talk about it, or have reporters even making dumb suggestions like it affects anything. ive got an idea. field a better team. find more talent. put them in a position to win. and the stupid bubble never comes up.

I believe that per the new CBA that during the season teams can only have something like 14 practices in full pads.
During training camp two-a-days only one practice could be in pads.

I don't think the bubble is to blame... Most teams don't practice in crazy heat like our team does most practices.

I think the big problem is with the lockout and shortened practices due to the CBA defenses haven't gotten into shape. You hear all these talks about Quarterbacks getting their WR's together in the offseason and practicing but I don't know how much the defenses did.Passing went up big this week compared to years past and I think this could be some sort of explanation, and for us to go against a team that went no huddle it became especially problematic.

Plus last year we didn't play any 1 o'clock home games and so far we haven't this year, so I don't get how the heat is an issue for us right now.

the heat is an issue because it was a night game and the defense was worn out...imagine if it was a 1 o'clock game? there would have been no one left to play on defense

I believe it was at a miami dolphins practice at nova when a camera man in the scissor lift was struck by lightning. Plus all the canceled practices due to the weather that made them get the bubble.

i know this, and i think that they should be using it when there is bad weather around... but when the practices were not public (after the public ones ended) they practiced indoors to stay out of the heat... I don't agree with that...they should be in the heat to be used to it so they can use it to their advantage

So why or how did the Patriots handle the heat so well?

Poor argument....Don Shula's Dolphins took advantage of the heat and were conditioned for it...there was no bubble then, and we don't need it now.

Totally agree, they should not have any need for a practice bubble at all. How to you condition for playing to your advantages at home if your spending half that time in a controlled enviroment or scaling back on practices or practice time? The above argument for #2 is absolutely redundant with the exception of lightning, why should this team NOT be practicing in the natural elements of Florida living? Rain? They should absolutely be outside practicing in rain, I couldn't imagine what it would be like if they didn't!!! Just imagine Henne's first experience with throwing a wet ball, Bess trying to catch a fast throw of a slippery ball, Reggie's first cut upfield on an outside run or our Defense trying to tackle a wet, mud soaked player without practicing for it!!! Get em the He!! out of the bubble and OUTSIDE in the Florida Sun/Rains because it's natural and you are surely going to face this situation sooner or later. The only teams thatshould have any temporary use of a bubble or indoor facility are teams that are north of say Virginia where occasionally you'll need to escape freezing temps to just preserve your body from hitting the frozen ground too many times but even they get outdoors for their practices also.
