• SS Reshad Jones picked off Cam Newton in the red zone during an 11-on-11 series. Rookie safety Cedric Thompson also pulled down an interception.
• QB Josh Freeman threw a touchdown pass to tight end Tim Semisch during his 11-on-11, two-minute series. Freeman effectively moved the Dolphins' second-team offense downfield, looking the best he has in weeks.
• QB Matt Moore was intercepted by Panthers CB Bene Benwikere on a pass intended for Michael Preston, who tipped the ball in the air after it was thrown behind him.
Sam Brenner worked as the second-team center and the third-team left guard during Thursday's practice.
Injury updates
Branden Albert, the Dolphins' projected starting left tackle, participated in individual drills. Albert, who is nine months into rehabilitating his surgically repaired right knee, still has a noticeable limp. He's currently wearing a bulky brace. While Albert and the Dolphins are hopeful that he'll be ready for the Sept. 13 season-opener, that timetable seems unrealistic because Albert hasn't been cleared to participate in contact work.
• Receiver Greg Jennings was kept out of Thursday's practice because of an elbow injury. Also held out of Thursday's work were Koa Misi (calf), Jordan Tripp (ankle) and DeVante Parker (foot). Safety Don Jones, who was taken off the physically-unable-to-perform list earlier this week, worked on the side with a trainer.
• Cornerback Zack Bowman appears to have re-injured the hamstring that he has been nursing since organized team activities. The eighth-year pro returned to practice 20 minutes after being worked on by a trainer.

I can see Freeman getting signed by Carolina after he is cut.
One good drive snd he gets another payday.

Carolina got a good look at our WRs. How much you wanna bet they sign either Preston or Hazel when we cut them

Albert with a "noticeable limp" means he's more than likely to miss at least the first 2-3 games and maybe start the season on PUP meaning 6 games.

Bottom line, IF (???) we can weather the storm, start him on PUP.

Right now he's demonstrating leadership and guts, but it's silly to push him into a situation that's shaky at best.

My opinion. Of course.

BNF.

I would have no problem Albert sitting for both Washington and Jacksonville, If there are any two games in the whole schedule that you will try and sneak by with a less than subpar starting lineup, its these two games. Giving Albert more time to heal and strengthen his leg will only help later in the year when the schedule is harder. Even Parker too I don't mind him no getting any real playing time until after the bye game

Starting the season on PUP and not coming back until week 6 is more realistic than him him being [realistically] ready another month or so from now with this noticeable limp and not yet cleared. Hope Fox can keep the pressure off Tannehill or thats our season.

Albert cannot realistically play until November.

If Delmas' injury did not prove that then I do not know what to say.

Finheaveners have been bombing me for being the bearer of bad news - but F it - - the truth is the truth.

Sorry folks but management F..ed up bad on this one with not securing serious line help...La el Collins in the 6th....Just saying....

Really? Still?

Please keep in mind that Albert always walks with a limp. Does anyone think we can do without him, with little risk to Tanny weeks 1 and 2? I am not up to speed on Wash and Jax DE's.

Sweet Jesus dude, you post this same thing all the time. Why can't you get it through your skull that if we had drafted Collins he would not have signed, and re-entered the draft next year, nice wasted pick! And we TRIED to sign him, our troops courted him to no avail.

Yeah we need help but this is a sorry ass argument
