Dolphins are signing former Utah TE Jake Murphy(son of MLB great Dale;brother of ex-Dolphin Shawn) to practice squad. Cut by Oakland in Aug.

For those who have asked, Dolphins say they don't need to cut a player this week to make room for Reshad Jones. Cut must be made next week.

Darkua seems to be the choice. Wondering if we also put Thigpen on the roster. It would be the right time.
 
The Dolphins, who worked out former Oregon star RB LaMichael James two weeks ago, are again talking with him about joining p-squad.@flasportsbuzz

Maybe that is the holdup he won't be on the active roster

You have to give the FO credit for keeping the bottom of the roster churning.

Although I'd have given them much more credit if they churned yet still found a way to keep Don Jones. Dude is a straight playmaker on ST and a future good S.

Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that veteran LB Desmond Bishop worked out for the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday.
Bishop, 30, is a former sixth-round pick of the Packers. He spent five years with Green Bay and helped them win a Super Bowl before he suffered a serious hamstring injury that cost him the 2012 season.
Bishop later caught on with the Vikings, but unfortunately suffered a torn ACL and was placed on season-ending injured reserve. The Cardinals signed him to a contract a few weeks ago and he managed to make through roster cuts, but was released soon after.
He has recently visited with the Jets and Chiefs since he was cut loose by the Cardinals.

I thought that Marcus Thigpen might be released from practice squad to make room for LaMichael James. But Thigpen remains along with LMJ.@AbramsonPBP

Barry Jackson said James was signed to the practice squad.

I just saw James' highlight film that someone posted and I don't know what the buzz is about. He's fast but doesn't have great balance didn't seem very elusive and he didn't have a single broken tackle in a highlight film. He went down on first contact. Seems very meh to me.
 
Posted that yesterday before we were sure if it was active roster or not.

Well he is just on the practice squad dont have to make a roster spot for him so if it doesnt work out they will just keep churning the practice squad. The fact that Thigpen is still there means James isin't going to be handed a returner job etc.

I'm thinking they bring James in to compete with Thigpen during the bye, and one gets a roster spot.

Well that sucks. I thought he looked pretty good in preseason...like a guy we could develop into a swing tackle. Oh well.
