Practice Today

Crazy idea that maybe the FO knew what they had in Gates which is why they didn't sign Edwards.

It sure sounds like the F/O could care less about what the fans want or who the fans want to sign ... Edwards has a long history of off the field problems ... I guess they felt he wasn't worth the price of admission!!! Lets hope Gates becomes priceless to Miami ... if there is a knock on Gates it be he is a tad older than most rookies .. but i figure it just makes him that much more mature? but you can't teach his speed, he is already many times better than Ted Ginn!!!

im officially sold on gates. back to back practices burning corners and coming down with the ball. the guy is aggressive and gives it his all. Burned sean and will allen yesterday. Burned vontae twice today. Really hope he can steal the #2 wr spot from hartline

Columbo- im scared with this guy at RT. dont like his base stance. Real skinny legs with braces on both knees. Just looks awky out there
Jerry- OUT OF SHAPE
Matt Moore- solid with short to intermediate passes. Cant throw the deep ball
Devlin- really like this kid. Good quick release. Pretty accurate
Sheets- Simply Swag

First thing I noticed in the pictures of Columbo was his stick legs. Its very obvious he payed little to no attention when lifting or his conditioning, to his legs. Not bad if the man has exceptional core strength and can move well but since I never really watched him play, I cannot say he has any of the above.

you should be scared with colombo at right tackle...be very scared...dudes toast...his legs are shot

i see alot of ppl worried about columbo, and i dont see why. The guy was brought to be a backup at most or practice body. + the cowboys sucked, why does it all fall on columbo? that hole team was a disaster.

so whos starting RT? cuz hes practicing with 1st string

how do you know these guys aren't annointing colombo the 2011 starting right tackle??? i thought last year mcquistan was only here as window dressing but there his big red mullet was starting at guard and setting the position back 20 years i might add when the games that count were being played...

Cowboys may have suckked but their Oline was ranked 11th overall in the NFL and that was without Romo in there all last year. Ours was ranked 22nd. Granted, Our LT played with his shoulder tied on with a string, our center was really a good backup, our RG was a rookie and had this illness thing and never really played well and our RT had bad knees from the get go and eventually went on IR. IMO, 22nd with all that was not bad at all LOL Still, Columbo was part of an Oline ranked twice as high as ours.

lol...you think carey had bad knees...wait til you see colombo in live game action...he's gonna look like a bull fighter with a red cape when those edge rushers come off the snap

Lets see why McQuistan started last year at guard. Hmmmmm, could it be Garner was IR'd in camp, nah. Could it be our backup guard had to play center, Berger, Nah. Could it be our starting RG was a rookie and had some sort of illness and had to be replaced, Nah, could it be when the rookie cam back he was not playing well, NAH, could it be our center was injured and we had to put our LG at center and McQuistan had to play LG because, well, because everyone else that could play guard was, wait for it, Injured, Nah. He may have not been the best in the world but if you really knew football Pat McQuistan did what he was paid for, filled in when needed at RT, RG and LG. Not half bad , not at all.

Columbo was also the weak link on that line.

Well, sounds like Vernon part two from 2010 then. There are no tackles available out there that are much better. If anyone knows of any, please, inform us and no rah rah homer rants from kids that were playing college ball in 2010 and still have not signed with a team. Honest, not much to choose from this year at all. If any, I would take a shot a Max Starks. He had Neck surgery and not sure if even ready. He is about the only one I would even consider and after the contract he signed with Pittsburgh a few years ago, he would probably be asking far too much.

This is a crazy year. Lots of guys still on the street. I expect more signings to come as time goes by this summer. Many unsigned players are coming down to reality and realizing they are not going to get anything close to what their agent is asking for their services.

yeah dude...you really know football

Maybe so but prior to 2010 Columbo was considered a very good offensive lineman. Have to see what the guy has in his tank. If can can resign an ineffective Defensive end with 15 years playing time in the NFL and give him a chance, we can sign a lineman that was good all of his career with the exception of one year, don't you think ?

Besides, with Jake out, we have no one else to play LT but Lydon Murtha. Everyone else is basically camp fodder on the team. Columbo would never beat out Jake or could ever play LT. Soo, yeah, for now, he is implanted at the RT position because if we used him at LT just as camp fodder, the entire offense would suffer I guess if he is as bad as you say. At least Murtha knows the system.

Well oh wise one dude. Tell me who we could have used in McQuistans place that could play that many positions. and please, do not mention any name that ends in Smiley or Thomas because Thomas blows and Smiley is a walking MRI machine. So, please, inform all of us who on this roster could do what McQuistan did,,, dude. I have plenty of time, hammer away at the keys almighty knowledgeable one of football,

your the one breaking out the "if you really knew football" to me in one post and then talking about colombo in another like he wasn't a mortal wound in 2010...

pat mcquistan blew in 2010 just like incog at left guard who you seem to have a man crush on did also...and just because these goons bring in these garbage players and play them in positions they blow chunks at on our starting oline doesn't mean i have to find some "well he sucks anywhere we line him up but he's versatile" silver lining...

and in 2011 if colombo plays starting right tackle...he's gonna blow chunks also
