Jimmy needs to embrace the concept of wrap up tacking.

Me too. What is Omar looking at?

Jimmy Wilson has evolved into a nice nickel corner. However, while he was logically the "next man up" when Jones was suspended and it is quite obvious that nobody on the scrap heap would do…it did not mean that position was in good hands.

Wilson makes too many over-aggressive plays and gets too damn execited when he make a tackle 10 yards down field.

Agreed and think he has made some improvements just like I had thought Nolan Carroll had, but let's see what happens when he has to play the safety position when we start the games for real, not feeling overall confident but hoping for the best for the first 4 games. Will he criticism him if it is warranted at that time?

Wilson is a nickel by trade and a backup S bc Jones is out, he should be graded accordingly. I honestly don't like him starting at either spot but he's an ideal backup bc of his versatility. Brady is the only top QB we face before Jones and Jordan come back so hopefully their absence won't hurt too bad.

I'm not comfortable with Jimmy being the last line of defense, unless he shows marked improvement in his tackling technique the next two games. I felt from the beginning that not resigning Clemons was a bad decision, and with Jones missing the first 25% of the season, it sure would have been nice to have him around. Granted, he is not flashy or a big play maker, but he is smart, hits hard, and is a reliable tackler. Seldom blows an assignment. Personally, I have always liked Clemons better than Jones. I don't expect anyone else to agree with me though.

I'm with you. I'll take Clemons' reliability any day

I didn't particularly care for Clemons but he is Ronnie Lott compared to Jones. Hated giving him a big contract. I can't believe how much he gets away with around here. He was every bit as bad as Wheeler last year yet nobody is clamoring for his replacement.

You guys must be talking about a different Chris Clemons than the one who played for the Dolphins last year.

Clemons may excel in coverage and rarely makes mistakes, but he’s far from a game-changer. He’ll never have the impact on a game safeties like Troy Polamalu, Jairus Byrd and Earl Thomas consistently have. There were several times in 2013 when Clemons had the opportunity to alter the outcome of a contest with an interception only to see that opportunity go through his hands. He’s never been a ball-hawk as evidenced by his one interception this past season and his four total in five years with the Dolphins. The former Clemson Tiger also graded poorly in run support and missed a career-high 14 tackles.

Don't want to start a thread for this but Omar's special guest today on his radio show (WQAM) is none other than Miko Grimes. Apparently she was a radio personality in Atlanta in her old life and that is how she and Grimes met. Should be an interesting listen, wish I could but live shows aren't available for me.
