Max Himmelrich ‏@HimmelrichNFL 1h1 hour ago
Keeping Cameron Wake fresh by rotating him in situationally could be what he needs to stay productive. Always so explosive on fresh legs.

Max Himmelrich ‏@HimmelrichNFL 1h1 hour ago
Jordan Phillips just blew by Laremy Tunsil for a sack. Looks like he knocked the ball out of Moore's hands for good measure.

Max Himmelrich ‏@HimmelrichNFL 1h1 hour ago
It's obvious how much Washburn trusts Ndamukong Suh, who he has helping him get defensive personnel in order.

Chris Perkins ‏@chrisperk 1h1 hour ago
I'll say it again, I'm more worried about offense than defense. And not just b/c of tonite. Felt that entire offseason.

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 1h1 hour ago
Dolphins offense has not crossed midfield a half hour into the scrimmage.

Antwan V. Staley ‏@antwanstaley 1h1 hour ago
4 drives, 4 punts so far tonight

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 1h1 hour ago
Another drive ends shy of midfield. Defense is jumping and celebrating in a huddle.

Max Himmelrich ‏@HimmelrichNFL 1h1 hour ago
All defense so far, and they're loving it. Yelling and running onto the field after every play.

Max Himmelrich ‏@HimmelrichNFL 1h1 hour ago
Cameron Wake is leading the defensive hype crew. He's a maniac in the best way possible.

Antwan V. Staley ‏@antwanstaley 1h1 hour ago
The Dolphins defense > Dolphins Offense during tonight's scrimmage

Gase on practicing in the bubble: First thing you notice is the intensity level #Dolphins

Gase: "Defense went to another level. ... Offensively, there was no juice. ... It irritates me."

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 58m58 minutes ago
Gase: "you get to be in pads like 22 times. To not take advantage of that is irritating."

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 58m58 minutes ago
Gase is steamed. This is the most upset we've seen him.

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley 52m52 minutes ago
Gase on offense: "It seemed like everyone was sleepwalking a little bit." Said it was surprising.

Hal Habib ‏@gunnerhal 55m55 minutes ago

Hal Habib ‏@gunnerhal 54m54 minutes ago
Gase, when pointed out Damien Williams had one of few bright spots on O: I appreciate you pointing out there wasn't a lot of positive plays.

Antwan V. Staley ‏@antwanstaley 57m57 minutes ago
Gase on the kicker situation: We are going to just keep evaluating

Antwan V. Staley ‏@antwanstaley 57m57 minutes ago
Gase said Damien Williams has done a great job since he has returned

Antwan V. Staley ‏@antwanstaley 2m2 minutes ago
Apparently The Big Show lives in the area and considers himself a Dolphin fan. That explains why he was here tonight

I've never been to an NFL game so i don't know how big those guys really are. However I have seen the Big Show in real life. I now know how big NFL players are. Just seeing Pouncey stand next to Show kinda blew my mind.

With that out of the way. I saw a Beasley tweet, not sure if you got it Daytona, that said Gase was irritated with the offense. He said they looks like they were asleep out there. I REALLY like that. A coach that isn't afraid to call the team out on their lack of effort. Something that we haven't seen in the past 7 or lore years. I am starting to really like Gase. Proof is still in the pudding but I have more hope.

I saw that, I think I got it in there somewhere. Gase doesn't sound happy at all, frustrated. I think this offense is further behind than we think. I'm not sure how much of it is Parker being sidelined but we may need to brace ourselves for a slow start especially with some of those offenses in the first half of schedule.

Everyone used to complain about philbins lack of leadership, and inability to show energy or get the team amped up.

Tannehilll has the same problem. In 4 years I've yet to really see the offense respond to him.

2 weeks into camp no preseason games yet.
I will try and stay calm

Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase has been given superlatives such as quarterback whisperer and one of the NFL’s greatest offensive minds. While those adjectives to describe Gase might be right, the Dolphins offense hasn’t exactly set the world on fire during their first eight training camp practices.

On Saturday, the Dolphins held their scrimmage inside of the bubble instead of outdoors because of inclement weather and the offense struggled, to say the least. Miami only recorded one first down during the entire scrimmage.

The Dolphins defensive line dominated as they recorded five sacks (unofficially) against the first, second and third team. Miami’s offense looked flat as they had high snaps, interceptions and fumbles.

After the scrimmage, Gase was as angry as he has been since becoming the head coach in January.
Miami may have to rely more on their defense than their offense simply because they have had problems moving the football during camp. Center Mike Pouncey isn’t worried about the offense, despite the poor showing.

“It is one day out of training camp,” Pouncey said. “So it doesn’t affect our mindset going into the season and what type of offense we can be.”

Last season, the Dolphins finished 26th in the league in offense (331 yards per game) and 27th in points per game (19.4). Gase was brought in to improves those totals, but it could simply be the team just doesn’t have the personnel.

Miami will be back at practice on Monday and it could be one of the team’s hardest practices of training camp.

It usually takes 6 live games for a new offense to totally gel.

That said, all what I've said before about relying on pure possession WRs and shrinking violets across the board (minus one: Parker), plus an interior OL that is massively bad/weak/inept, it's curtains for an offense, long term.

When Miami has explosion and high upside at the skill positions and OL players that can win the trenches, Miami's offense will magically transform.

Problem is: Miami hasn't had that at more than one or two offensive positions in many years.

Gase is also gonna find out that relying on Dallas Thomas in game situations is a drive killing and QB killing machine. Put the pads on and game lights on and he's a liability. Practice like Tarzan and play like Jane.

Ajayi starts at RB in scrimmage. Dallas Thomas starts at LG and Billy Turner starts at RG.

CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu limps off field.

But Lippett has looked underwhelming at times, leading to Chimdi Chekwa taking some of the first-team reps ahead of him in practice this week. But with Chekwa nursing a quad injury, Lippett lined up with the first-team defense in Saturday’s intrasquad scrimmage.

Considering that Miami’s quarterbacks combined to throw for 32 passing yards in the scrimmage, Lippett was part of an effective secondary.

“I think Tony is just working to get better every day, as far as, whether it’s press or he’s playing off. He’s seeing a lot of different routes,” coach Adam Gase said Saturday.

“I think he’s really heading upward, as far as improvement. I know that for himself, he’s not going to stop at wherever he’s at right now. He’s going to keep working to get better. He knows that with [Howard] being out right now, he’s got a really good chance of keeping these reps and seeing where he’s at. After the preseason, it’s going to be a lot more telling for us.”
http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachp...ony-lippett-trending-upward-in-training-camp/

When BrUce Arians says it takes an offense 8 real games before things gel then there's zero reason to get worked up over 10 training camp practices.

Also the starting O had 10 plays. That's the first drive in a game.

Reading tweets during practice has always been a bad way to judge anything. Gase didn't seem mad at the offense being behind more likely for being flat.

I would rather Gase and the coaching staff see what isn't working best with personnel and get the best lineup set and go from there.
