If you go to the "Insider" part of the Dolphins' website, you can pull up a video clip of Ricky practicing. In that clip Ronnie is practicing part of a play where he's split out wide in the slot, he makes a quick crackback block on the end, and then he twirls out into the flat in a pass pattern.

I think this is based on two plays we'll see Sunday:

1) Ronnie lines up in the slot, he cracks back on the end (or the OLB) at the snap, and Ricky runs around the end.

2) Ronnie lines up in the slot, he cracks back on the end or the OLB for a split second, fake handoff to Ricky (which draws up the LBs), and then Ronnie twirls into the flat and catches a pass with only a safety to beat (WR blocks the CB toward the sideline, or both WRs are lined up on the opposite side of the field).

This is just one of the many ways we'll see these two guys work together. I think we're all in for a real treat here.

that's cool, but it's a pretty basic play, although instead of a receiver doing the blocking it'll be brown

Right, but the film footage of Ronnie doing this is what's key. It pretty much proves they'll have him in those expanded roles here real soon. I don't think the Bucs will be ready to handle this.

kiffen isn't an idiot. he knows what's up with brown. i think mentally they'll be prepared for brown and ricky to do all kinds of things, i just don't know if they can stop it

Right, and that's the thing. It's not every day you face a team with a 233-pound Marshall Faulk at fullback.

Ronnie will knock Brooks on his back then catch the pass and run over Ronde Barber and will run for 78yds for the 1st score of the game. (Boy i wish)

THAT WOULD BE A CAREER MAKING PLAY!!!

Will be interesting to see what kind of creativity the coaches roll out with. I'm not sure I remember us rolling out any WR reverses the past two games...could be time for that again.

I remember one bread and butter play during the preseason was a 3 WR formation single tailback, where the WR came across the formation in motion, then peeled backwards toward the backfield at the snap and took a handoff from Gus Frerotte for a WR reverse.

Funny thing about that play, was I saw Chambers run it, Welker run it, Gilmore I believe, and maybe David Boston. The REAL funny part, was at some point, I definitely saw Ricky Williams lined up in the tailback spot, while Ronnie Brown was the slot WR in the 3-WR formation that went in motion across the formation just like the WRs did on the WR reverse. The play wasn't a reverse, but it was the exact same formation and motion set up...

Could you imagine, a slot WR reverse but actually using a RB? LOL.
