19.6 is the only number you need to remember, the average number of points scored against the D, 6th in the NFL in 2011. Before you lambaste the number think about this, New England scored 30+ points 12 times in 2012, the Cowboys, Pitt, Giants and Miami were the only 4 to hold that offense under 30 points last season.

20.6 is the woeful offensive production that Miami managed to stumble through. Miami scored under 21 points TEN times in 2011, I'm sorry but if your defense holds an opponent to 21 points or less in todays NFL you should be able to win the damn game, oh by the way the defense did that TEN times and four were losses. San Fran did it THIRTEEN times and only lost twice.

Miami needs an offense and it needs to score some points. Yeah the D has work to do generating more turnovers and bolstering the passing D but I can tell ya if this defense was as overrated as suggested by many analytical reporters, RGIII or Luck would be on the roster.

The defense is the only reason Miami won 6 games last season because it damn sure wasn't the offense.
 
I honestly don't see anything wrong with what they wrote but I might be crazy

I have to say that this defense is probably the brightest spot of the whole team. It is one of the only things that excites me every season. We are a top ten defense. I really don't think that is overrated.
 
The SECONDARY isn't abysmal, it's the safeties. I just flat out have lost my faith in Chris Clemons. You can't teach instincts at this level, and he just doesn't have them. It's a shame. Jones has them, but he takes terrible angles. Do I feel you can coach that? I'm told you can, and for that, I'm a much bigger believer in him panning out than I am Chris Clemons.

Which is a shame, because Clemons has the build and speed of a top flight safety. If he had Jones' instincts he'd be Earl Thomas
