Preseason is a decent tool to use to judge your teams starting talent as well as the depth of your talent. With this being something we can all or the majority can agree upon we will have a pretty decent year on the defensive side of the ball. Judging by Parcells and Co.'s draft Defense is what they were looking to rebuild first and I agree.

1. We were #2 in overall defense in the preseason in comparison to #25 in total defense in 2007 preseason. We were #23 in the 2007 regular season. Preseason does mean something!

2. We lead the preseason in Sacks with 14.

3. We ranked 6 in rushing Defense. We were #16 in 2007 preseason and 32 in the regular season.

4. We are #10 in passing D verse last years preseason at #27.

5. #2 in scoring Defense this preason verses #10 last year in scoring on D.

So to those who wish not to get their hopes up because "it's only pre-season" standby to be awed by this mighty defense that will get better in the regular season.

They got attitude this year and depth.

Preseason can be a guage to how our team will respond this year. Last year we played like crap - got pushed around and had no flow on offense. I am glad TS kept the starters in more than the past preseasons.

It looks like a tough defense to move the ball on. We don't concede anything so far without a fight. Got to love the new mentality across the board and the young guys are looking good.

Also, Preseason means that we have good depth along the D-Line, linebacker, and safety.
I'm still unsure about the CB's..

there are still games to be played...

just sayin....

Oh yeah we do have 19 or 20 games to play this year. However, using 07 preseason number and 07 regular season numbers and comparing to this year will give us some idea. You got to admit that the D looks great.

I liked how Channing played during the preseason. looks like he might be ready to step up and be a playmaker

All that and without Taylor...Zach or for the most Porter....very impressive. Just proves that sometimes you have to know when to let go of your team favorites.

I don't believe in just because your defense looks great in preseason it will be great. Most teams barely play starters in preseason, I know the Jets barely played their starters, the 3rd preseason game we played our starters for a half, the rest of the games we maybe had 2 quarters combined with their play.
Preseason usually a offense is basic, and a defense is basic. I know the Jets barely blitzed in preseason, only the Giants game did they do some things they would do in the season, you don't give away your plays yet. I mean good for you guys your defense looked good, but I still think your defense isn't good, I'm not trying to start a fight, just saying that there are question marks on it, who are your pass rushers? Your starting CBs don't impress me at all, I just don't see a defense letting go 2 players of the caliber of Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas and be a top tier defense. We'll see week 1 how good you guys are when the Jets come to town! I am actually a bit worried, because this is a game that the Jets could easily lose if they aren't prepared and ready, and its a very important game to win as the next 2 games we play New England and then the Chargers. If we started out 0-3 that would be horrible!

i feel like jayson taylor is great but im not gonna miss him 1 bit.he is very skinny and isnt great in the run game and we got exposed in that department. we now 2 big beast de and a dt that will stop the run and im expecting big things from our run defense

Yes my brother.....Indulge and Enjoy!!! It's going to be a great year. Not just because of a feeling I got....which is powerful.....but numbers do not lie. Our offensive production leaves alot to be desired.....but as long as Chad P can manage the games.....and if Fiedler could I know he can....The Defense will bring it home.
