he averaged 4.3 YPC which is good but not great.

I think Miller has ability but obviously Moreno is a more proven back. I think they will split things up, I don't think either will run enough to get 1,000 yds but they should. if they relied less on the pass I think your O would be more successful.

Nothing wrong with that statement but calling him "clearly a 1000 yard back" might be a stretch.

ok maybe my excitement got the best of me but wouldnt you agree that given enough carries Miller would have been a 1000 yard back too? 1000 yards isnt really a hard achievement if you get the carries

He rushed for over 1,000 yards last season and I certainly believe he can get 1,000 yards this season for a couple of reasons:

1. Believe it or not, the Chip Kelly offense is all about rushing the football, even on non-traditional downs.
2. Up-tempo offense potentially means more carries for him.

I don't think it's so much of a stretch. IMO the biggest question concerning his productivity will be the stubbornness of Joe Philbin. If Daniel Thomas makes our opening day 53 man roster and keeps getting carries, then I'm just going to throw in the towel right there.

Knowshon isn't a GREAT player. We know that. But the question is, "Is he better than Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas?"

And yes, he is. He is absolutely better than Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas.
He looked better than Miller Ill give you that, but Miller didn't look bad by any means in that game...

thats true given his stubborn nature he might keep Miller as the starter and give them equal carries. I would only give Miller 25% of snaps. considering he isnt much of a blocker or receiver

I think between 10 to 11 wins is very possible, even though the AFC East is going to be pretty good...I have it probably...1. Pats.....2. Dolphins....3. Bills....4. Jets.

Until some actually dethrones the Pats, they should be expected to win again the East.

it's not a great accomplishment but it is harder now when teams don't give RBs as many carries as they used to. Not many workhorses around and I doubt Moreno would be one in Miami.

Chip has maybe the best RB in football in Philly so they have to run it, do you see Moreno getting 300+ carries? I think if he did he'd get over 1200 yds but I think he'll get most of the carries but I don't think they will let Miller rot. do you think he'll get 300 carries?

I agree tempo should get more snaps and thus more carries but I'll be surprised if Moreno is a workhorse. he's only had over 200 carries 2 times and has never been over 250 in 5 seasons.

he will not get 300 no but 200 is not out of the question, he had 241 last year if I recall. I believe they start with equal carries and then Moreno earns more carries then Miller as the season goes on. this team will definitely be more committed to running. you can't expect 200 yards a game but 120 team rushing yards a game seems like a reasonable goal

if you guys can run the ball well, and I think you should be able to, then I think you will be a playoff caliber team.

thanks for the kind words to a rival lol

hope people don't get ahead of themselves. still worried about the run blocking. i still think the oline will be below average in that department, but i hope i'm wrong, or hope Moreno can break enough tackles to make it not looks as bad. lol

I have a bad reputation here but I always try to be fair. I thought you guys should have been a playoff team last year. I think you have playoff caliber talent this year but it really comes down to the QB and a solid run game will take pressure off him and could be the difference BUT I still see a lot of early 90s Jets when I look at Miami. every year we had the talent to be a playoff team but mentally we couldn't get over the hump except for 1 playoff year at 8-8. something would always go wrong late in the year and I can see that happening to Miami.

and if Jerry Jones gets his way there will be another wild card team thus more 8-8 playoff teams

I really haven't seen enough this preseason to make an educated guess. However, since I have to make a choice now, I will go with 6 - 10. Last year we won some games against some very good teams that we probably should have lost and lost some games we should have won. Until we become more consistent, I am guessing we will lose some close ones. Of course, bragging rights be damned. I hope I am wrong as hell and we make the playoffs! Go Dolphins!!
