The team will start 1-7. Jason Taylor will suffer a shoulder injury opening day. Huezenga will announce that he is going to fire Wannstedt at the end of the season but let him stay till the end. Jason comes back game 9 and the team gets on fire. They go 7-1 the last half of the season but still miss the playoffs but were mathmatically eliminated after the 10th game of the season.

Now instead of looking like having the first overall pick in the draft...they end up with the 19th pick...and since he did such a good job closing out the season...Wannsted is not only not fired but given another 2 yr extension.

Meanwhile...the Jets go on to win the Super Bowl. Zach Thomas retires after the season, Ricky Williams comes back to play with Oakland and Dan Marino is killed in a freak car accident coming back from the hall of fame induction.
