Prediction:Culpepper to IR by week 9

Cpep needs a lot of work if he is going to contribute to this team. No one has a time table on how long that is. Booker is down. This might not be a popular idea for some, but this is what I think is going to happen. I think during the Bye week they will assess whare we are as a team and consider putting Cpep on IR, promote Lemon to #2 QB. Activate Vick and make him #3 QB as well as Receiver. He will also be able to help Welker with the punt and kick off return job.Just an Opinion.:cooldude:
 
sounds like you gave that alot of thought. but i wouldn't put culpepper in i r untill you knew for sure ther was no way he could contribute this year. keep him third on the chart. i think a hobbled pep is better than a healthy vick, if it would get to that. they can bring vick up in suggs spot, if they think he could be a help in the return game.
 
We don't need Vick, and it would be crazy to put DC on IR. He may be ready later in the season and if so, should get playing time so he can be the man next year.

Interesting idea.
 
I feel like Daunte's psyche is more valuable than his mobility or arm right now. The dolphins need to be careful not to damage his confidence any more than it has been to this point. This guy is not here to sit on the bench if he's healthy (or close to healthy). I think we're really preparing him for next year. That's not to say that this season is in the crapper. If Joey starts to get wins I'm all for him starting. I was just hoping we would have a clear-cut guy by now.

IMO, this might just happen.

I look at this, among other ideas / possibilities, being considered during the bye-week.

If Welker moves up to the #2 spot we might see Vick come in to do punt/kickoff returns more likely they would go to Minor though.

However if Peps already having problems with Saban for starting Joey just imagine what would happen when he finds out hes being put on IR, he will not be happy. I don't think Pep goes on IR unless Saban is going to get rid of him during the offseason just for that fact alone.

It would be interesting with Vick at RB tho as much as Mularkey seems to like having Ronnie throw the ball.
 
I dont think DC goes on the IR. Saban will keep him at QB3 until DC gets his mobility back which could be next month or next year.

It could be interestin havin Vick a WR where Mularkey could throw in some gadget plays and have Vick throw the ball down field. Just an idea. It would be fun to watch though. However, i dont see Saban havin Vick be a startin QB.

You are correct in that during the BYE week is when a lot of decisions will be made WRT playing time for the younger players and injuries to starters ....

I think it's pretty clear who our guy is going to be for a while.
 
yeah sounds like not a bad idea to free up a roster spot but i dont know how confident i am with cleo lemon at #2 i know joey isnt injury prone but you never know with 300+ pound dlineman possibly sacking him.

Even if Cpep was put on IR, if Vick was activated I don't think he could be the 3rd QB if he played WR as well. I think he would have to be #2 QB in order to play at WR.

Same situation with Feeley in Philly, some said he was only #2 QB because he held the ball for FG's and extra points.
