So far this coaching staff has done nothing to help keep me - a die-hard fan for 38 years from believing that they have addressed the problems on this team in any serious way.

We still have not addressed speed on offense. Our offensive line is still a pile of question marks. We have a backup QB as a starter. We picked up a has-been in Jason Taylor to compliment C. Wake.

So how soon will we be out of playoff contention and how soon will Sporano be fired becomes the relevant questions to me.

I was willing to look over mis-spelling the head coach's name, but the no speed thing make you look like you don't even follow the team

Raving, you'll find that the coach's defenders on this board will never give up an inch of ground. At one point I thought they had even censored 'sporono' to prevent people from mispelling his name.

week 9 dude is done

not sure ireland goes to

It's like you want the team to fail ... Lets see where the chips fall before we start talking about firing Sparano and hiring a new coach...

Great let's have that conversation: We got Reggie Bush - most likely a situational back. We drafted in the 4th round a wide receiver and picked up and UDFA running back. Daniel Thomas is a 3 yards and a cloud of dust player. Our tight end H-Back is again a late round draft pick. So do we have game changing speed in the mix that we can count on. I do not see it. This is the same offense as last year with Daniel Thomas instead of Ronnie Brown and Reggie Bush as a viable threat - IF the dude can stay healthy. Until proven otherwise all rookies are Yatil Green!

As someone who has practiced the art of salesmanship, no one appreciates an effective "implied close" where an assumptive opinion is thrown out there as fact for agreement. Kudos 2 U

.. so let me try one also:
Which week in the season will your head explode and/or your family, embarrassed by your tantrums, lock you away in the basement, if Sparano is not fired, let alone happens to be having a season that's as successful at home as the last one was on the road??

Every offensive skill position got speed this year. Gates, Clay, Bush. And you write your history of being a fan as it somehow lends value to your statement but it makes it so much worse when you don't even know how to spell Sparano.

I understand your frustrations with the offensive line and ills at quarterback
however as far as speed goes we will see 3 players on the roster on offense
that are really quick granted they waited till 4th round and free agency
though that rookie Clyde Gates looks like a gem Reggie bush is fast,
Kory Sheets seems to have healed and has legit speed.
I think they could use one more speedster at wide receiver
and fulltime return man with speed
nolan carrol and cobbs are just way too slow to be returning kicks..

I have more optimism than usually lately
maybe because i been hearing a lot of good things
from the last few days that make me feel as if the dolphins
got some great bargains in the draft like clyde and something about devlin
makes me think the kid just might be for real..
if ireland finds a diamond in devlin hits on a legit #2 in clyde at 4th round
and reggie bush has a solid year than ireland definitely has the luck of the irish on his side..

The line though is really worrying me the musical chairs has only increased
and i feel if tony is not even close to who he thinks will be his starters and backups
I know deep down he thinks he needs more horses on the line and has too many deer..
Without good line play Bush, henne, devlin, clyde, thomas,
will all suffer and look bad just like ronnie brown did
though i think this is why you still go after ricky williams
because even with all the crap last year
ricky was still above 4 yards per carry..

No just the opposite. I want this to team to succeed BIG TIME... But I am trying to not drink tainted cool-aid. Lets face it - he drafted speed in the 4th round and the 6th round and got UDFA to be our difference makers. When speed talent was available in the brief and explosive free agency market we settled on a somewhat injury prone Reggie Bush. I like Reggie Bush but he is not an every down player. Had they gotten Sproles too, and brought in 5 speed receivers in between draft, free agency and so on to win one or two positions on the roster I would say the coaching staff was serious about speed. But one dude from a small school in the 4th round - I say Yatil Green until proven otherwise...

People are mad at me - but what did the Dolphins do in the off season to get out of 7 and 9 to lets say 10 or 11 wins. Cut Channing Crowder, replace him with Burnett (great move) draft Mike Pouncey (good move but neglected speed), Daniel Thomas (decent player but neglect speed), and get Reggie Bush (good move but not ENOUGH!).

So yeah I am complaining BIGTIME!

Oy. Guys. I don't mind too much the signing of Bush, Clay and Gates but, seriously...Bush is going to be playing the same role as Travis Minor (unless the Dolphins are seriously going to be using him as a 1st option). Now, does he have the potential to be the best possible version of Travis Minor for us? Yes. But I don't think that's going to transform us into a fast offense.

Gates is a late round pick from Abilene Christian. I know someone who went to Abilene Christian, but only one. I don't know that we can guarantee he's going to be a star player. Same goes for Clay.

Its true you can get steals in unusual places, but the further down in the draft you go the less likely it is. That goes double for UDFAs. Kickers and punters are an exception, as are "quick" (not fast) slot receivers.

Won't happen during the season. IF we do bad and I hope we don't, we will win just enough to keep Sporano on week to week. He'd really have to lose many games in a row to be considered for termination by Ross.
Ross probably already has a plan for next offseason based on the outcome of this year. Like a breaking point where he says, "That's it, Im done with him."

He won't get fired. Because this FO had a good offseason, which is their first and only true offseason with 100% control.

The players love Sparano. He isn't going anywhere nor is Ireland anytime soon

We haven't even SEEN one play from our new offense and it's new tools...We haven't seen what the new additions to a top 6 defense will bring to our team...and people are already guessing as to when the head coach is going to be fired! Unbelievable! Can we see one play, one game, one month of football before we start deciding the head coach's future for this season??? Jeez!
