Brian Hartline has 925 on the year and only needs 37 yards per game to eclipse 1000
Mike Wallace now has 867 on the year and needs 66 yards per game to eclipse 1000
1991 was the last time Miami had two 1000 yard receivers (Mark Clayton and Mark Duper did it twice I think). I was a 12 year old Dan Marino fan at that point 22 years ago. We are already very close to being on pace to do that this year. While Wallace is slightly off pace for a 1000 yard season he has picked up his pace and has averaged 102 yards per game in the last two games. If he can bring up his weekly average from 62 yards per game to 65 per game Wallace will hit 1000 yards. Hartline has also picked up his pace over the last two games and has also averaged 102 yards per game. I see Hartline getting 1100 yards with 5 TDS and Wallace getting just over 1000 yards with 6TDS, now if both could just keep getting touchdowns we would be sitting pretty as far as our WR situation.
Also guys, I would trade neat stats all day for making the playoffs. But I just wanted to highlight some of the production we are / or are not getting from our players. Take a look Below at the comparison between Rishard Mathews and Brandon Gibson before his injury (they are both at 30 catches so it is very comparable)
Here are the stats of all of our WR/TE's this year:
Brian Hartline / NFL rank 23
804 Yards / 62 Receptions / 3TD / 67 yards per game
Pace: 1072 Yards
Mike Wallace / NFL rank 26
743 yards / 56 Receptions / 3TD 62 yards per game
Pace: 991 Yards
Note: Wallace is averaging 102 yards per game in his last two outings and he has 2 TD in the last two weeks. If he keeps his momentum and ups his yards per game from 62 to 65 he will hit 1000 yards.
Charles Clay / NFL rank 6th
581 yards / 53 Receptions / 4TD / 48.5 yards per game
Pace: 775 Yards
Note: Currently 6th in the NFL, Makes you wonder what Keller would have done here this year.
Brandon Gibson (out for year: Knee)
326 yards / 30 Receptions / 3TD
Rishard Matthews
312 yards / 30 Receptions / 2TD
Note: It is interesting to now compare Rishard's stats with Gibson as they both now have 30 Receptions on the year. With Gibson out, it seems Mathews is playing comparably well in a similar role although there seems to be a slight drop off
Marlon Moore
20 yards / 2 Receptions / 0TD
Note: barely seen the field
Michael Egnew
44 yards / 5 Receptions / 0TD
Dion Simms
19 yards / 4 Receptions / 1TD
Notes: I was hoping to see Simms used more at the goal line as a big TD threat but he has seen limited snaps.
