IMO the preseason is NOT worthless and especially for a team like Miami.

Preseason provides a degree of insight into the product we're being SOLD.

But fret not. In short order live bullets will fill the air!

Does the first quarter of the season count?

How about the first half?

Sooner or later the actual product on the field

has gotta count! My opinion.

Of course.

"Score early!"

"Score often!"

We will see September 9th. I can't really fault people for continuing to have their doubts with this team. The team still has many concerns. Nothing they have done in these preseason games gives those doubters any reason to stop doubting.

They do need to score early. Not just field goals. This team needs to push the ball downfield and score TDs. They need to take early leads then allow their defense to pin the ears of opposing offenses back and let loose on their QBs. Burke needs to make this run defense at least respectible. None of these pathetic displays of guys losing contain, blowing assignments and taking terrible angles allowing 60+ yard TDs like they have in these last two games. That crap needs to be cleaned up now. Also these ridiculous runs on 2nd and 3rd and longs allowed to mobile QBs needs to stop. It was sickening the way the 2nd and 3rd string defense played tonight. They made Jackson who had looked awful so far this preseason look like an All Pro tonight.

Give all these guys who didn't bother to show up tonight one last chance to make this team when they play against the Falcons.

Other than that the coaches and players , those who are almost guaranteed to make the team, need to continue to work on correcting these mistakes before the bullets start to fly for real.

Titans' starting offense looked bad in its third preseason game, too.

But here's the thing: I think the Titans are going to be bad this season. I think Mike Vrabel was probably a terrible hire, and I see that team winning 5-6 games. So, in summary, who knows?

Mariota has been pretty awful. Missing badly on passes.

But he's Geno Smith at his worst ... who had a 158.3 game against us ... so who the hell knows is exactly right.

Sure hope you're right.

Love to start out at least 1-0!

Winning beats the crap outta losing.

Thanks.

Can't imagine how bad our offense would have looked if the Ravens starters were in there. I predicted a 5-11 finish and I'm thinking now that might be too many wins.

But preseason means nothing. So nevermind, I'm overreacting.

Oh, don't get me wrong: I'm not predicting that we're going to beat the Titans. I'm just saying, that the Titans' offense looked downright abysmal in their third preseason game, and I think Mike Vrabel is probably borderline retarded. So I think we could do worse for a week one matchup.

LOL. I met Vrabel (passing) in a bank in NE years ago -- gotta strong whiff of neanderthal!

I bet you're right!

Good case for Gase to prove he's smarter!

38-7 Miami!

Omg yes we’re definitely so bad this preseason that Ross will sell the team gase gets fired and Kiko becomes the head coach. We will set records in futility surpassing the expansion team bucs! 0-64 here we come!

Just my take but I thought our D (1st half) executed WAY BETTER than the O. Botched exchanges, balls floppin' out of the QB hands like 12lb greased bass, and so on (no positive YARDS like 1st 3 drives included).

Truth is -- I had some expectations (more like wishes) how we would show proficiency in execution and navigate that pig methodically (if not dramatically) down the battlefield and

SCORE TDs like buckshot in the spring of duck season! (tho of course Ravens are a protected species).

But... Bummer. And then as you stated -- 2nd half the D seemed totally unprepared to deal with a QB who had really one weapon in crunch time -- to run. I saw that and just...

preseason or afterlife -- gawd ya gotta be expecting the obvious... I mean if I can see it -- it has to be obvious!

Nonetheless, I have subsequently sedated and (thanks Grey Goose) willing to participate in the lab rat experiment further!

>>> thanks for the response!

Enjoy!

I would be surprised if the Titans don't have a minimum of 120 yards against us in the opener. We'll probably have to stack the box which should help Mariota pick apart our DB sans X and of course Delanie Walker should have a field day against our LB's. Even if you don't think Mariota is that great the question is who is worse? Our pass defense or Mariota?
