President not a GM

It seems to be our GM is not a GM but rather a 'president of football operations' it is my understanding a GM will control the hiring and firing of coaches as well as player acquisitions in close relationship with the HC.. of course some HCs such as BB have many GM powers.. it seems that Philbin being answerable directly to Ross and hiring his own coaches has some of the same autonomy.. so I think a GM is not what we are currently looking for.. unless Ross makes it clear things will change in that regard at a later date.. but who wants to take his word for it and any contract guarantee will leak and lame the coach who is already on a hot seat...No we are not hiring a GM we are after a president of football operations.. the GM title is incorrect for the role being filled imo.. discuss

Not all GMs have the ability to hire and fire coaches, there are quite a few in the league right now that can't. There are also some setups where the coach can hire and fire the GM. Our structure isn't really that out of whack like some are saying.
