The Dolphins still have Jake Long, Brandon Marshall, Reggie Bush, the NFL’s sixth-ranked defense, tropical weather and an owner who desperately wants Manning. As former Dolphins coach Jimmy Johnson wrote on Twitter today, “(I) don’t understand why they are not top choice.”

Philbin is a smart guy who is also a good speaker.....could you imagine Sparano trying to "speak" to Peyton and convince him to come to Miami?? Philbin making the pitch is good.....as long as he tells Ireland before the meeting that there will not be any questions regarding Peyton's mom being a prostitute or Archie being a PIMP, all is good.

Yes I could, and I don't think it would mean a damn thing. Some of you have this unrealistic view of what football is and what football players respect in a HC.

Both Philbin and Sprano have their pluses and minuses. This crap about how either of them speak in front of crowds is a bit naive. Seeing as how it's a fact, Philbin won't be talking to Manning in front of any crowd tomorrow when they talk football.

Let's be real here. Manning already knows where he is going. All he's doing is looking for a reason to not go to the team he has as his #1 team. I don't think Sprano or Philbin would screw that interview up, not one bit.
