Haven't seen this posted yet. CBS's 'star' journalist just wrote this column about overrated and underrated players in the nfl. He says Porter is the most overrated in the ntire NFL. I find this a little hard to believe. Some of his reasons were that Porter should be getting 'at least double digit sacks' like a 3-4 linebacker is 'supposed' to (by my count only 6 LBs total last year had double digit sacks.. hardly 'supposed to' in my book). Also he has beef that 6 of his 7 sacks came in 3 games. So what? I don't see how that makes him much different than a guy who got 7 sacks in 7 games. Perhaps those 3 games were against weaker lines, but its still difficult to get multiple sacks in a game. Take into account he also missed 2 games last season, which could have led to a few more sacks. He also had to throw in the fighting incident which, yes, is a flaw on porter, but hardly should count towards him being 'overrated'. Rating players is mostly about on the field conduct I'd think, unless they are a Pacman or along those lines. I think Crisco is just using Porter's recent incident as a jumping point to criticize.
On the flip side, he says Bell is our most underrated player, which makes sense as being underrated by the rest of the nfl, but I think all of us fans recognize his potential and greatness :D
Thoughts?
