The NFL released a list of current top Pro Bowl vote getters by position. Three Dolphins, all from the Offense, have made the list: Alec Ingold (FB), Tyreek Hill (WR), and Terron Armstead (OT). Miami has the fourth highest number of total votes received. Tyreek Hill has the fifth most individual votes in the league.0CF657B7-463E-42B2-97A4-09BBB069062A.png

No surprise there and must say Geno Smith has to win the Comeback Player of the Year Award. Hats off to him.
Iā€™m not entirely clear as to how Geno is in the running for comeback player. Not denying that heā€™s having a good season, but what exactly is he coming back from? This is the first season in like 10 years where heā€™s looked like a legitimate QB. More of a breakout player than a comeback player.

Not necessarily directed at you, as I know heā€™s universally considered the front runner for the award. Iā€™m just not clear as to what the criteria is

I agree. I always thought that comeback player awards are given to the player that overcame a major injury or something similar that comes back and has an excellent season.

I think Geno Smith has had an very good season so far but all he is coming back from as far as I can determine is not being a good starting QB prior to this year.

If anything, Tua deserved the comeback player more than Smith, based on the fact Tua had to deal with Flores as his head coach his first 2 years in Miami.

I think not having played football in almost a decade qualifies as a comeback.

Had he been a career backup whoā€™s name you couldnā€™t remember, it would be different but Geno was a highly regarded prospect and ā€œfellā€ to the second round.

Dude got punched in the face by a Jets teammate in the locker room.

Coming back from the failure to actually be successful Iā€™d say qualifies. Had he played two games and been pulled it wouldā€™ve been a different story.

I feel bad for writing him and the Seahawks off as anything but contenders for the No.1 pick. Geno has more than earned my respect and not just because heā€™s played well.

Exactly this was coming to post the very same thing.

Geno breathing life into his career a decade after being drafted is a pretty legendary thing.

Armstead, Hill, Ingold, Waddle, Wilkins, Hunt, Holland and Tua have all played Pro Bowl caliber seasons to date. Think Hill, Armstead and Tua should be All Pros too.
