The Pro Football Weekly Preview magazine has hit the stores. Their predicting the Dolphins going 5-11 and earning a 4th place spot in the AFC east.

They also are rating a current QB situation a C-, just a little FYI

I'm not sure what to make of that mag (other than the fact it's way too expensive to subscribe to) They gave a grade of C for the Phins draft, and then one of their 'experts' totally trashed Miami's entire draft. Pretty much saying their only decent pick was Booker and the rest of the draft was forgetable or something to that effect. I guess we'll have a better idea after mini camp.

What are our linebackers rated at? I buy that mag every year, and can't remember it being available this early here in Canada. Gonna look into to it, but I may have to wait a week or so....

It is available in Canada. Go to Chapters.
I think with the ratings we are getting, we'll be able to come under the radar and surprise a few teams. Last year we self proclaim our team as SB contenders and things did not work. This might just be the other way around. We'll see.

This is much better than last season when some were ridiculous for predicting we were going to be in the SB.... now we can come in under the radar and make some noise when it counts for real.

Cool, thanks. I just check out the mag racks at the convenience stores and gas stations I visit, never really went to a book store to get it. I was anticipating this years edition (as every years), and may just head down to a Chapters to get it.

Last year I also saw a "REVISED" edition, closer to September with updated rosters after cuts and stuff.

Personally, I like being rated at 5-11. Everyone will rate us in the same area, and everyone will criticize our drafting of Ginn. It will give this team some motivation, as they ALL know they are better than 5-11. Plus the fact that we have a new coach also plays a factor.

PS. Still don't know that the LB's are rated???

open your eyes people. remember the wanny/speilman years and the excuses we had for there picks......we did reach and picked undersized players....i rate us a D and this has nothing to do with Quinn we could have selected better at the spot

So how do you really feel about the last draft?

It's obvious that many sports writers form an allegiance to certain players, making them blind towards all others (see BQ). How else can you explain these guys (and others) claiming that "the rest of the draft was forgetable", when we get a first round offensive playmaking prospect, the likes of which the NFL hasn't seen in two decades (a need and/or luxury for any team). A QB who continually climbed up the pre-draft boards to late 1st round status by some, and a need pick. The 2nd best Center in the draft (arguably the best for our system and a need). And the best NT in the draft, again, another need. Only when you become helplessly predisposed to something, can anything different be looked at as forgetable.

So then you go and do the same thing by saying that every player Miami drafted is the best. (or second best). You have an allegiance to Miami and think that they ended up with the best draft when a lot of others who don't care one way or another for Miami don't.

Some people got to know whose opinion to take and whose not. The interesting trend was that ex scouts gave the Dolphins high grades. Media hacks were the ones that gave horrible grades.

Media and Scouts are definately on different pages and in general I prefer to be on scouts side.
