He scares me, grabby SOB down field, and when he doesn't grab downfield he gives up plays, some CBs never get past that, as the vid suggests, he may end up at S.

He's gonna look good opposite Maxwell. PPPRRREEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Did you watch him play?

Most of his TD he gave up were during his sophomore season...I think he only gave up 3 over the last season..

Aslo those PI calls were over two season...25 games and 14 PI calls...its alot, it is still in the "every other game" area.

I don't have a PI call break down, but would not be surprised if most were during his sophomore season.

I watched game tape, you also have to take into consideration that they get away with a lot more in college than the NFL, there were a lot of plays that he would have drawn a flag in the NFL.

No doubt, but I like his aggression, he will get burned year one, expect that to happen and he is going to get calls, but he is a rookie and needs to learn on the run. Fortunately Joseph has been known for getting the most out of his DB's.

One thing that scares me from looking at that tape. I noticed when he was running down the sidelines with the ball with defenders coming at him he never ever put the ball into his other hand to protect it from being stripped. NFL Players will def take that rock from him if he does not learn to switch hands.

You cant teach Passion and aggressiveness and until he proves otherwise I am going to trust that he will become better and better at the techniques that Joseph wants him to master. I don't have very high expectations of the first year but I do think he will turn into a spectacular piece to our D.

I cant think of press cornerback prospect in years who wasn't considered "grabby".

Also have to remember most of these guys didn't even play cornerback in high school. They converted in college. There's still a lot of growth with these guys, which is why IMO cornerback is a such a crapshoot to draft.

But I like what I see from Xavien. Physically it's all there, and he seems to have a good understanding of how to do exactly what he will be asked to do here.

Polished press corners in the draft don't exist, I think a lot of fans expectations of how good a college press corner should be are far too high. He also made a significant jump between his sophomore and junior season which IMO is being greatly under looked.

Had he stayed for his senior season, I bet he would he a projected top 15 draft pick.

Eli Apple was more grabby than this guy. I would have cringed had we took Apple over Jackson. Glad we got Howard, good pick, fits the scheme. Plays like an animal.
