Before I ask, let me tell you some things about myself, lived in Hialeah for 30 years, saw the '72 fins beat the Jets in the orange bowl, saw the undefeated Bears beaten by the fins, and I remember being in the Costco on red road and the palmetto, watching Don Shula retire, also met Dan Marino at the gas station across from St Thomas and I knew Farrell Edmonds. So I am a fin fan and a Bears fan. Now here it comes, don't hammer me, and I am not suggesting the team brings back Shoes, but.

What real progress has this team made since his retirement???

I am a fin fan and not a Bears fan. I met a lot of players in my time also. That has nothing to do with your question, but you telling me your life story had nothing to do with your question either. The team has made NO progress since Shula's retirement. What progress has the team made since JJ's retirement?

Now that I have used the ignore function, I really would like to get some input. I really don't see much differance.

Thats Because there hasnt been any. Cept Maybe ZT and JT.

What's...

What's that suposes to meant?, are we getting any progress?, we have notbeen making any progres since 1992, with Shula onboard we started this down fall. The org have try to stop it, but what have found was a lot of late first round picks with no oppotunity to pick a quality qb since Marino, that's all. Have been your question answer?, cause Shula ,at the end suck big time, like Marino, they screw the team big time, because of there late retirement. GO DOLPHINS!! :dolphins:

The only progress was improvement and and a better emphasis on the defense during JJ's time and early in Wanny's term. The offense and special teams have regressed a lot over the past 11 years.

Put it this way, the Dolphins have only won one division title since Shula retired.

There has been little if any progress made with this team since Coach Shula's retirement. Jimmy Johnson was able to build a defense which the team had seriously lacked during the Shula era, but neglected the offense.

Wannstedt inherited what Johnson gave to him and did nothing to maintain it. His only claim to fame was Ricky Williams, and even that turned into one of the team's biggest disappointments.

Nick Saban inherited a mess. Whether there is progress or not, I really can't say. Ithink after last year's 6 game winning streak to close the season gave everyone high expectations. Whether these expectations are unrealistic, I can't say for sure, but the one thing I do know though is that we drafted Ronnie Brown number 3 overall with the expectations of him being a premier running back in the league. But this hasn't come to pass due to the current coaching staff ie; Mularkey calling passing plays over running plays 3 or 4 to 1.

This is pretty simple. If you don't run the ball, you can't win...period.

Thanks to all of the Fin fans for the comments. It seems to me that after Shulas retirement the Fins have been in the Twilight zone. JJ comes in, builds a great defense, but tries to ignore and even disrespect the Fins legacy. Then he has an emotional breakdown, freaks out (oh by the way anybody remember "the freak on the fan"?) then quits, I could not believe it, he just packs his bags and leaves.

Then the team is left to Wannidiot, don't forget, being a bears fan also, gives me a unique perspective on this guy. I could not believe that the Fins would be left in this loosing coaches hands, and I knew suffering was to come when he said he would not talk about the "situation", Meaning Dan Marino. 1/2 a Dan Marino was better than all of the quarterbacks that the Fins have had so far.

Now we have Nick Saban, I am still not seeing much of a difference in this team.

Wanny's record with the Bears was 41-57, then Dick Juron (Who?) 35-46, now along comes Lovie Smith, and they look like the '85 Monsters. Now either the Fins are sooooo messed up due to JJ and Wanny that it will take Saban years to straighten things out, or he just might be another Butch Davis.
