Projected 2012 Depth Chart And 2013 Mock Draft

I don't see Margus Hunt as the Dolphins' first round pick next year. Not sure you can justify that pick based on the potential for blocked kicks alone. He's been a terrible defensive end.

The Dolphins could find themselves looking for an inside linebacker next year and between Shayne Skov and Manti Te'o that is going to be a unique draft for that position. I actually had Skov as the best even considering Luke Kuechly.

The Dolphins could also find themselves looking for a safety and David Amerson could be considered a convert to that position as he played it in high school where he was one of the best defensive backs in the country, and he's shown ball hawking ability as a corner at NC State. He might not possess the pure physical gifts for corner. Kenny Vaccaro could also be a consideration if the Dolphins can forgive the arrest he just had this weekend where he and his friends (including Alex Okafor) were ordered by police to leave a bar and they stupidly chose not to leave.

Everyone is going to want a receiver and apparently all eyes are on Robert Woods. However, all eyes SHOULD be on Marquess Wilson, because I think he's going to be the better prospect.

Don't forget QB!!

Gawd, we all hope not ... but the odds say we'll still need a Franchise QB!! Might have a higher draft pick too!!

Who knows with these Estonians?? I like Barkevious Mingo as well. I expect him to fill out without losing his athleticism. He is actually a better compliment to Wake in the long run even if Vernon reaches his potential.

IMO, you need an elite pass rush to beat Tom Brady, and the Dolphins aren't going anywhere until they can beat Tom Brady; and I mean Tom Brady, Belichick is way overrated.

Ryan Tannehill and an elite rookie WR prospect will never get us past the Patriots, but an elite pass rushing DL and a very good blitzing defense might.

IMO, drafting a WR in the 1st round anywhere above #24 would be frivolous, if not much worse. Toooooo risky. They just need a crew of guys who can get open and make catches under duress when they are not open. God forbid they spend a high draft pick on some big strong athletic guy who can't catch the ball. There is way too much of that. The secret to having a successful WR corps is hands, hands, hands; and you can find guys like that in the mid to late rounds. Their are too many examples to even start a list.

Obviously, I am a defense first guy to the extreme.

why are people high on naanee, dont see him beating out the rookies. there is a very low possibility he makes the roster

Because he has starter experience in both San Diego and Carolina.

Because if asked to do so, he is an elite special teams player.

Because he is over 6'2" 220 pounds and runs a 4.40 forty.

Naanee isn't a playmaker, but he doesn't suck. He can do everything in a somewhat solid way, and if he is healthy, he can help the Dolphins right away.

dude he sucks. his signing was the most underwhelming move we've made all offseason. dude has been in the league for 5 years, and hasn't even broken 500 yards receiving in any of those years. He sucks. get real.

Yes, he HAS been in the league 5 years. That is already 2 years more than the average. Why? .......Because he DOESN'T suck. He is mediocre. Elementary my dear Bill. He is what he is.

He is an excellent ST's coverage guy. Being over 6'2" and 220 with 4.4 speed helps that.

He has good, not great blocking skills.

He has good, not great hands.

He runs good, not great, routes.

etc. etc. etc.

He is a starter in case of injury or a decent #3,4, or 5.

Nobody is expecting him to catch 50 passes or gain over 500 yds.

DT wont be traded. He is the Ryan Grant type player phins will keep.
I think Messam will be put on PUP. He will rehab and phins should not gamble with a re-injury and bring him back later in the season or next year.
Seems phins are working hard to find a FB.

I think your right if Tannyhill starts day one then Gerrard or Moore will be cut.

I think 6th WR slot will be either Wallace or M. Moore or Cunningham and I think the surprise will be M. Moore winning the job.

Martin will start RT. RG will be Murtha. Play best five. That Temple Guard UDFA I think will make the team (D. Dennis). Liked your T. Brown choice to make the team too. I would not pencil any of the current Guard starters as locks to make the team. There will be an overhaul of the guards in this camp. they will pull and block LBs 5 to 8 yards down field or they will be gone.

For Defense I think J. Smith will make roster as DE. We need more pass rushers. Wake/Odrick/Vernon/Smith will be DEs. Starks/Solai/Kendall/Mcdaniel. - Mcdaniel could be a cap casualty if someone else is as good as he is.

Next years first draft pick will be a CB I think. that NC State CB would be ideal for us. I dont believe we will pick in the top ten next year. Maybe around Pick 15.

People realize the Miami Dolphins rank BJ Cunningham "higher" than Rishard Matthews, right? If not they would not had bypassed Matthews for Cunningham in the 6th round...

QB........Ryan Tannehill...Matt Moore...Pat Devlin...(Assuming Garrard retires)

RB.......Reggie Bush....Daniel Thomas(traded for a 3rd before the deadline)...Jerome Messam...Lamar Miller....Jonas Gray(pup)
Not saying there is anything wrong with DT or that he doesn't have a good future, I just like the other 4 a lot.

FB.......Charles Clay

WR......Roberto Wallace...Davonne Bess...Brian Hartline...Clyde Gates....Legadu Naanee...Rishard Matthews.

I have no idea how the WR situation is really going to turn out. I put Wallace first because I think he is really underappreciated on this site. Obviously, Naanee,Hartline and Bess have the most experience.

TE......Fasano....Michael Egnew....Les Brown

LT......Long....Jonathan Martin

RT.....Lydon Murtha.....Martin...Nate Garner

LG.....Incognito...Feinga

C/OG....Pouncey...Terence Brown(*)

DT/NT...Soliai.....Isaako Aaitui

DT/DE...Starks...McDaniel

DT/DE...Odrick...Chas Alecxih

DE/OLB...Wake...Olivier Vernon...Kaddu

DE/OLB...Jamaal Westerman...Olivier Vernon....Trusnik

MLB........Misi....Dansby

OLB........Dansby....Kaddu

OLB........Burnett....Guyton....Trusnik

S...........Baccari Rambo.....Jones...Clemons....Jimmy Wilson......Tyrell Johnson(pup)

CB........Davis....Richard Marshall......Smith....Vince Agnew.....Nolan Carroll....Jonathan Wade

K-P-LS....Carpenter,Fields,Denney

Practice Squad:

Jeff Fuller.........WR

Jacqies Smith......DE/OLB

Kheeston Randall......DT/DE

Chris Hogan..............WR

Josh Samuda...........OG

Cameron Collins.......LB(This is my favorite to make the active roster later on)

Trenton Hughes......CB

Dustin Waldron.......OT

Matt Moore,Richie Incognito,Tony McDaniel,Trusnik, and Hartline all walk. The rest of the significant FA's resigned.

2013 Mock Draft:

Dolphins spend their 2013 2nd round pick on Baccari Rambo in the 2012 supplemental draft.

1st........Margus Hunt........DE/DT.....Total freak of nature. Might be an extraterrestrial.

2nd....Trading two 3rd's to move up into the 2nd round.(from the Thomas and Marshall trades)...Aaron Mellette...WR

3rd.......Malliciah Goodman.....DE/OLB

4th.......Tanner Hawkinson.....OT/OG

5th.......E J Manuel..............QB

6th.......Patrick Larimore.......LB

7th........Marquis Goodwin .....WR

I can almost guarantee that Martin is going to start at RT. I have a feeling that Jeff Fuller is going to find a way on the starting roster.

wow. I was taught in elementary school that good+good+good+etc. etc. etc. plus excellent st's coverage guy would = at least a good WR. so why do you proclaim him mediocre? Oh I know. because he sucks harder than a french whore on Sunday night the day before rent is due.

That's a lot of hate for a guy who has just put on a Dolphin uniform.

Don't forget; he can throw as well, one of the etc.'s. He played QB at Boise State before converting to WR when Zabransky beat him out. I can see it now; Naanee throws to Tannehill on a post out of double reverse.

not hate, I just don't like the idea of wasting a roster spot on a guy who hasn't show anything other than a few catches. 7 rookie WRs had more yardage than he's ever gotten. Oh and quite a few of those 7 had more tds than he has in his career. this guy is not the answer.

Sorry wildman but rookies," are who we thought they were," rookies; they have big goose eggs in all stat categories. This is the NFL and college stats don't count for anything.

How convenient, this is the nfl and this guys stats haven't counted for anything either. well guess we should stick with the guy who sucks, because we dont' wanna take a chance on a rookie blowing.
