There has been a systematic revelation over the past 3-4 years that proves that the local beat writers collectively know absolutely nothing about the goings on at Dolphins Headquarters, or anywhere else for that matter. The Local guys have these articles planned and I am of the belief that they salivate at the opportunity to humiliate the owner and coaches. Once the Patriots beat Miami Dave Hyde and the usual suspects let loose with a barrage of articles detailing that Philbin would be fired and that Harbaugh was all but hired. This proved to be a farce and is a continuing evidence of their incompetence and malicious intent. There is no doubt that the populous at large revels in conspiracy and corruption which is littered on the messageboards and call-in shows. It is disdainful and if you take part in it you should be ashamed for promoting the culture of deceit and disinformation we are subject to by the writers and bloggers. I have been a member of various VIP and CLUB areas and they are no different, offering people who bloviate of their connections and well worded innuendo which in the end is nothing but a constipated intellect hovering over commode of controversy and conspiracy.

maybe this should be in the rant section?

I hope we take what our reporters say with a huge grain of salt.

I'm pretty sure no one here trusts local reporters, the Miami beat writers are amongst the worst in the country...

Preach on...I never listen to the reporters and their opinions. Only time I pay attention is when they report facts, like play-by-play stuff from training camp or something along those lines. Only reporter I trust with Dolphins information is Barry Jackson...who is an actual journalist and reports what sources tell him without adding his twisted opinion.

To be fair, Mando and Beasely did not write off Joe. Mando stated that IF Harbaugh would come, Joe would be canned. Beasley wrote an article saying that Ross had not discussed a coaching change.

Omar is flat out awful in whatever he does.

Omar's issue is that he's highly opinionated and he reports those opinions as fact sometimes. But I do appreciate his training camp tweets...by far the best of all the local beat writers.

Yeah. Armando has been telling people for a couple of weeks now that Joe getting fired wasn't a done deal.

Give him credit for once.

Funny thing is that people think it's different in other cities.

Their jobs is to sell papers, get page views, get clicks and tweets etc.

They don't to anything we don't do in this forum with the exception they have access to the lockerroom/facilities.

Without them, most of these threads wouldn't exist.

The problem isn't that he has that opinion. Anyone could have said that and been correct. That's the point, he's not telling the truth because he knows it to be true, his opinion just happened to correspond to what actually happened. Armando is among the absolute worst at encouraging this culture of discontent and it is ridiculous to give him props because he is of the opinion that the sky will get dark when the sun sets.

Omar is terrible.

He has been quite reserved regarding the situation with Philbin. I think he let Hyde make a fool of himself, regardless they are both peas in a pod.

I always laugh when the national writers get a major Dolphins story before the local goofballs, but it's their own fault

There's better information, analysis, and insight here on Fin Heaven. Omar and Armando are a joke. Jackson and Darlington are the only two I pay any attention to and Jeff isn't even a local anymore.

Side Note: How the **** does Jason LaCrapforu still have a job?

I would argue that the beat reporters know little about what goes on at Dolphins headquarters because the people working at Dolphins headquarters don't know what goes on at Dolphins headquarters.

The Dolphin journalists enjoy trying to create a sensation rather than writing anything substantive. Adam Beasley wins the LaCanfora award for being consistently wrong. But the editors don't seem to notice. David Hyde writes well but doesn't seem to do his backgound work. I am increasingly of the view that Barry Jackson is the best of a bad bunch.

100% correct. Stephen Ross is an extremely successful guy and not prone to making kneejerk reactions. This team was competitive against some top teams before the wheels fell off (partly because of a lot of injuries in certain positions). I am one of the few here on Finheaven who predicted Joe would be retained. I am happy that he has another year to show what he can do.
I think that this is his last chance and we need to make the playoffs. Otherwise he does need to go.
Patience is a virtue and I think that we are quite close to being a good team, but some changes in player personnel are needed.

The Miami beat writers are among the worst in the country, and it will be awhile until they can regain the trust of their reading audience. Though there are a few that are still trustworthy. Also isn't surprising that a lot of the bad national writers have a Miami sports writing history.
