I was watching eariler today and they were talking about Saban and Alabama (they said they hoped he didn't leave and that he SHOULD be a NFL coach). Then they mention him as a great coach and if it werent for one bad decision (specificaly mentioning playing C-Pep too early ) we would be competing for the AFC East title. Gettin' some love...

Or Selectting Culpepper over Brees. One can dream...
 
Maybe with the way our oline was playing breeze comes in and that sore shoulder the Pep had isn't a sore one for breeze and he's out for the season.

I guess my point would be you cannot say since one person had success there, they'd have that same success here.
 
I saw that too. Culpepper and Brees were both top 10 QBs at the time. Now Brees is a top 5 and if Culpepper is healthy he is a top 10. It is true that the mistake was starting C-Pep too early, not chosing the wrong QB. We should be more of a running team anyway.

I say nice things all the time... when will there be a thread about that??
 
Yeah i saw that and Wilbon said that the Dolphins are good team and that if Saban got the right QB we would be competing for the AFC EAST title.

I saw that too and Miami picked C-Pep over Brees, Brees didn't pick NO over Miami.
 
I don't hold picking Culpepper over Brees on Saban as his fault?

How many other teams went after Drew Brees? Exactly. It wasn't just us that passed on him, so Saban doesn't necessarily play the fool in that scenario.
 
Brees had such a heavy pricetag we would be missing other parts of our team already.

If Culpepper gets healthy I have no doubt he will be more than good enough to lead this team, and Brees had never had success anywhere close to what he is doing this year, how were we supposed to know he would perform like this?

Anyway good to see nice things being said about us.
