We have signed one FA so far of any value. Joey Porter and we paid a big price for him. We have lost 5 starters and haven't replaced any of them. Meanwhile New England has added 3 WR's (one was ours) a young talented LB and a RB (used to be ours). Come on let's get some of these people. There were some good CB's avaiable. We had Washington and Stallworth in for talks. We never pull the trigger and that is why we have been so bad and NE is so good.

Thoughts?

Don't overpay for decent players. Stallworth, Wahington, Welker, Morris etc. are all decent but nothing special.

My thoughts are that thinking overpaying for sub-standard talent is not the way to build a team for the long run. Actually, I could call it fact, and point to the last 7 years of the Dolphins as proof. Buying up every FA that we have in for a visit is sheer madness. Idiocy is truly doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. We're not led by idiots anymore.

Welker and Morris will not make the NE Patriots a SB contender. They only made 1 significant move in FA to me. That was the signing of Adalius. Other than that, they look like a team desperate for 1 last run. We on the other hand look like a team searching and accepting only the best. We made 2 significant FA signings. Cory S-------berg was very important for Ronnie Brown. Let's see what the draft brings us.

I agree, do not overpay mediocre talent. We are not in as bad shape as many say, we just need to find and fit in a few players to make this a very good team. Just be patient, RandyCam are not going to break the bank for iffy players just to be signing someone.

What about David Martin? From what I've read about him he has good hands, he's fast and a good blocker. We also signed Schlesinger, he is one of the best FB in the game, both of these signings are key in what Cam likes to do. We don't have to sign big name FA to improve.

The only player that NE signed that I thought was impressive was Thomas.

Sammy Morris is nothing special and a downgrade from Cory Dillon, Stallworth is not as good as either of our starting receivers. Washington was intriguing but has done nothing and we have a guy that should be better in hagan.
NE overpaid for Stallworth,Welker and Washington. maybe we should inquire about Chad jackson or look to sign Reche Caldwell as our fourth receiver for almost nothing. NE signings were quite overrated.

You have read nowhere that Martin is a good blocker the rest is fairly true, not sure how fast he is.

Yep. None of those guys were that great.

New England is better because of the front office and HC. Our FO was shackled and Saban didn't have a clue. Now we have a guy in sync with the GM and there is a plan.

Take a xanex and relax.

Matt Lehr, the LG from Atlanta, who also plays C, is supposed to be visiting sometime soon. Houck knows him, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's added to the fold in the next week or so.

I hear ya...but I am not so sure about Reche. Did you see how many significant drops he had in that game against Indy (1 was a TD)....WOW!

Martin is supposably a better receiver than McMichael is, we will see if he can stay heathly. the thing to do now is sign some o-line. I think thats where we all feel we are lacking in FA, we lost a couple lineman and haven't signed any yet

Caldwell is about as good as Washington, but yea he has had dropsies.

Likewise, I'm frustrated. Couple of points, though. A Thomas is going to be 30 yrs old (like Porter), both Washington and Stallworth chose the Pats over the Fins because the ability to win now plus having Tom Brady throw to them instead who knows what down here. There's nothing the Fins could've done about that. We need to have a good draft above all else.
