What, if any, "possibly available" (most likely FA or RFA in a sign and trade type deal) players would you trade our #14 pick for?

The two the jump out at me are TE Julius Thomas or WR Demarious Thomas. Either one of those two would definitely be worth our #14 IMO.

What team is going to sign a player to a huge deal then just trade them away

it's not the nba with the sign and trade stuff...it won't happen

You can't do things like that because the contracts become unwieldly.
The benefit of a Kevin White or Maxx Williams is that for four years they are cheap while on their rookie dieals.
Neither Thomas will give us that option.
And Julius is injury prone.

I guess the term "hypothetical" is unfamiliar in these parts. I'm just trying to pass the time people.

... And Julius is injury prone.

24 TDs in the last 2 years (12 TDs in each). Started 14 games last year and played in 13 games the year before. I'll take that kind of injury prone.

I'm not trading my second rounder for Julius Thomas.

In the NBA sign and trades are the norm. Not the NFL however, it could happen. Me? I like the idea of trading down in the first to grab an extra 3rd rounder. I think the middle rounds have a ton of talent that we could use. I'd probably take someone like either Gordon late in the first or maybe Micheal bennett from Ohio State for the DL, or maybe DGB? Idk. Hell we could even go Maxx Williams from Minnesota. I'm a little more comfortable with a late rounder in the first and an extra third than at the 14 spot. There's a lot of good players that COULD be there at #14 but I think they may all be gone by 14 and we may be looking to grab someone that is considered a late first early second rounder anyways...just like last year (when I'm sure they TRIED to trade down to get James later).

NBA is the worst run professional sport in the world.

you don't watch the NBA much anymore do you?? Because honestly, the NBA is doing WAAAY better than the NFL right now. They are trending up in a very big way, great PR, no wife beating, no arrests, no child abuse, no cheating, they just sigend a mega deal for Tv that was like 3x larger than their last TV deal, their salary cap is skyrocketing, they fixed their player/ owner relations a few years ago and have higher tv ratings than they've had in years. NBA arrow is pointing ^^^^, the NFL arrow is pointing...where is the down arrow button because I need 5 of them!?

good they had a lot to clean up that the NFL really has a lot to work on.... but I was speaking more on where they can all choose where to go, contracts etc... in a way buying their championships.

more or less I LOVE college hoops, and watch it non stop... never really liked the NBA anyways found it boring (so prob have a bias there). But if these guys stopped whining, played hard constinantly, and did clean up themselves for the most part... anything to give the kids a great positive influence, and something to strive for is what I care about in the NBA.

The dollar value of the draft pick is just as valuable as anything re: trading picks for dudes. A first rounder who performs like a first rounder is a bargain. Julius Thomas or D. Thomas will both be near the highest paid for their positions, and you have to resign Tannehill soon. Like it or not money is a factor.

High draft pick and pay big money for Julius Thomas, or resign Charles Clay? I'm resigning Charles Clay.

Well while we're at it ... let's hypothetically trade for Aaron Rogers. Our existing WR group would improve exponentially. Problem solved.

Why would any team trade a top pick for a FA they could sign and give up nothing for? Hypothetically speaking, why not just give them the #1 pick as a gift, and sign the player? SMH

Maybe for Demaryius but Julius is overrated as result of having Manning as his QB imo.

And what's up with the Maxx Williams projections? Sure I'd like him, just not in the 1st. We should focus on bringing Clay back and developing Sims. If we really want a TE target Clive Walford in the 3rd.
