Put yourself in Ricky's shoes....

For 8 million, I'll suck it up (PRIDE) and suck it up more (doobies) when the season is over :D.

As Ive said IMHO. Ricky is going to be nothing more than a distraction to your UPCOMING SUPERSTAR IN THE MAKING R.BROWN!

Ricky - 8 million dollar debt = Ricky in Himalayas hanging out with Emu's hanging upside down.
I am actually quite surprised Saban allowed him to be brought back, unless there's something he knows that a team is going to offer a 5-6th rounder for him.

I wonder if would bash Wanny at all for the pounding he took week after week. I know we had to run with our QB, but the amount of times Ricky got the ball was rediculous.

OK...this is only about the 10 millionth time this has been brought up. Just as ridiculous now as it was the 1st time.

Ricky specifically asked to be left in on 3rd downs. It took him several times to actually get Wanny to agree. He also had the authority to come out of the game any time he wanted but chose not to. Ricky also on several occasions made the comment that the more he carried the ball, the better he was and that he liked to wear down defenses so that he could run them over in the 4th qtr.

Wanny was at fault for most of Miami's problems, but he was not responsible for Ricky's workload...Ricky was responsible for Ricky's workload. He only started claiming that Wanny overworked him when he needed someone to blame so that he wouldnt have to take responsibility for his actions.

I personally feel we owe Ricky our debt of gratitude for getting rid of the worst coaching staff ever assembled in the NFL. I challenge anyone to name a worst coaching staff in the history of the NFL. Ricky should be saying

1. Sorry, I bailed on my teammates because I couldn't in good conscious put my health on the line with a coaching staff that couldn't win a pop warner game.

2. I sorry to the fans who bought my merchandise and season tickets to watch me run the ball 40 times a game.

3. Even though last year was horrible for the franchise, I believe that due to the changes that were made we have set this team up to win playoff games and a Super Bowl, not just 9 or 10 wins a season.

Damn I hate bull in the ring.

You beat me to it....well, i liked hitting, but being the bull really sucked...I got lit up more than once.

As far as staying on topic....I don't really think Ricky will say much, if anything at all.

Didnt know you were actually in the locker room, team meetings or one on one meetings (actually one on one on one, since you were there  )....my bad! What would you say about Ricky during the season if he said he didnt want the ball 35-40 times a game?

Also, show me the 10 million LINKS please!

his retirement was a long time commin. he wanted to retire with the saints. he has stated that he didnt want to play football, and he only did it because everyone wanted him to. HE NEVER WATNED TO PLAY IN THE NFL.

he finally stood up and said that, retired, and was happy he left.

i do feel sorry for him. he might be a pot head, but i dont think you can say he blew all his money on pot. add up all the money you have earned in the past 6 years, and have your boss sue you for most of it back. you dont have that kind of money in the bank. (im just guessing there).

i think the team should have been pissed, but let him retire. they could have gone after SOME money, but i dont think it was right for them to go after the money he got from the saints. in the NFL its all about the signing bonus anyways. taking part of that bonus back seemes A LOT more reasonable than what the fins did. even if it was in their right to do so.

No one held a gun to his head to sign a contract worth millions. I will never feel sorry for someone who makes more money in a year than I will probably make in my lifetime.

Also - let's distinguish the difference between retiring in a responsible and timely fashion and bailing out on your team at the last minute. There is a big difference!

Most people would agree that anyone has a right to quit if they so choose - it was more the TIMING of his retirement that was selfish. He could have chosen to quit in January. Him waiting until after the draft/free agency was a very inconsiderate and selfish thing to do. He left himself in a very legally actionable position by doing something that irresponsible and then expressing no regrets about the plight of those he affected. He agreed to the terms of the contract. Bust the deal - face the wheel!

Ricky's brought all hardships he is facing upon himself. Let Willis McGahee quit on your team a week before training camp and see how you feel about it!

Put yourself in Ricky's shoes.... I'd go to Amsterdan, not India.

WOW....I didn't know Ricky coached too. No wonder why we did so badly last year, he was our RB and coach.

didnt have to be in the locker room or team meetings...this was all reported a couple of years ago.

You are however correct in questioning the "10 million" thing. I may have exaggerated a little on that one.

What would I say if Ricky said he didnt want the ball 35 times in a game? I'd probably say the guy was tired. Its expected to see players...especially RBs and Linemen, regularly come out for a breather. Maybe Ricky's SAD made him think others would look down on him if he asked to come out, or maybe it made him feel he HAD to be in on 3rd downs...who knows. Personally, I think it probably had more to do with reaching his incentives, but thats just my opinion. But, regardless of the reason why Ricky chose to accept so many carries, the fact remains that it was Ricky's choice.

A football player, atleast a true football player, is NEVER going to willingly walk out of a game. Jason taylor and Zach Tomas HATE getting taken out of the 4th quarter when miamis winning and basically won the game (didn't happen once last year i know, but try to remember two years ago) Ricky was probably running on adrenaline for half the games and really didn't realize how much work he was actually doing. Bit id doesn't matter, a football player on the field at times can feel invincible, and will not walk off, unless forced. Its the coaches moved, not the players.

Alot of things are mad public, example being when Wayne H was going to get of Wanny 2 off seasons ago. Im not saying that it wasnt made public, but what is Ricky supposed to do the day after it was made public, that he doesnt want to be in on every down, dont think so.

So you are saying that the reporter (or coach) lied about Ricky asking to be left in on 3rd downs and then Ricky just went along with it to not cause trouble?
