I am amazed t the glee over Harrington being released. effectively we do not have a QB. Culpepper is a huge ?. I base that on injury status & performance. he has pretty much been bad or off the field since 2004. Gee I am excited. then we have FA Cleo. How many games did he start? I put this in the same category of many here with their love of sage over someone like Griese. Pretty dumb.

I know the knocks on harrington. I don't buy the crap on how the OL magicially got good when he became starter. Cameron could have made him effective IMO.

I will say the Fin QB position has not been as putrid as it stands at this moment.

I am praying for Quinn to slip to #9 & I have alot of questions about him. If not him Stanton....Anybody!

Harrington fell apart down the stretch, the deer in the headlights look was just pathetic.

Well, if Culpepper doesn't pan out again this season, I guess we'll have to take our chances with Cleo if we don't land Quinn.

Harrington may restructure, you never know. Heck, Damon Huard was a sure fire FA until yesterday.

In all likelyhood though, he's gone. And if he is, you know Cam saw something in tapes he just didn't think he could work with compared to the cap stipulations. Why would a HC just let a QB go without studying him first?

I really like Joey Harrington. He's a thousand times more of a stand up guy than Daunte Culpepper could ever wish to become in 100 lifetimes. If personality counted in football, he'd be a hall of famer, but unfortunately you need game and Joey lacks game.

The fact is Joey wasn't as good as our backup who has no experience. Cleo came in and took a team that was dead and scoring no points and drove up and down the field. We didn't score TDs as much as we should have, but we had many more scoring drives. He also showed a better arm, quicker feet, and made less boneheaded plays per game.

If a guy who has no experience and came out of the depths can show more than our starter, its time to find a different QB.

I was a Joey supporter, but after a couple games where he would look at his first target and then throw it away to be safe everyplay, it became obvious he wasn't going to get the job done.

It had to do more with his $1 million cap hit than his performance.

He did get a chance to show us what he had. If we were blown away by his play he would definitely still be here.

This is based on one game right?

Well Apparently we are gonna try and Trade for Trent Green Now. I think he is a little better for the Short Term then Harrington

I am not saying he shouldn't restructure. That is a must. if he won't i am with you. But do we agree the playcalling & offens was putrid last season?
I say again DC is a huge ? healthwise. Lemon has zero starting experience for the most part & is unsigned.

Our situation is alarming.

Would rather go with the much younger & healthier Harrington.

harrington lost games for us, he never one games for us, and as said before, he was a deer caught in headlights and we would never improve over last season with him as QB not even a back up, he takes to long to start up and if he does he begins to stall (ie Lions game)

Ok Joeys probably not the answer but I dont think he was the whole problem here in Miami. Saban had the whole team confused, the only ones it didnt affect was Zach & Jason.Just saying Joey might be a whole different QB without Sabans head games & Malarkeys inept offense, but he will be cut today

I think we can do better than Harrington through the draft. Also, Cleo deserves to be a backup after his performance last season. Ideally, our opening day team would be Daunte starting, Cleo backing up, and a young guy developing as our 3rd.

The thing of it is, Joey did what he's done his whole career for us last year....fall short.

Lemon has some upside, albeit we really don't know much and CPep has proven in the past he has what it takes. He came back too soon, shame on both he and Saban for letting that happen. However, the fact is that he may come back to where he was prior to 2005, we really don't know that. Based on the second round pick we gave up for him, knowing he was coming off a horrific injury, Cam almost has to give him another shot. The play calling and general O last year was putrid (as was mentioned above). That doesn't excuse Joey, CPep or Lemon. It just says that we really don't know yet. With our investment in CPep, he'll get another shot at it.

If Quinn is available at #9, I sure wouldn't want to be Cam and Randy. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't with Quinn still on the board.

I can't see them passing him up, because of the PR nightmare it would be to do pass on him, but we could get a pretty good player, besides QB, that we really need right now. We have more than one hole to fill with that #9 pick.

Without knowing what FA is going to bring us, it's way too early to be worried about who our pick is at #9. If, for example, they bring in Green to backup CPep (or even to compete with him), then that changes things drastically.

Joey wasn't worth the money he was scheduled to make and may be brought back, but the fact is that even with Joey we have serious questions that can't be answered until CPep starts playing again...
