We get Culpepper after a bad knee injury. Everyone praises his past numbers before he was injured( Lots of TD's, amazing QB rating, MVP,.etc,etc.) He starts and looks like a shell of his former self.We are virtually eliminated from the playoffs at mid season.
We get Green after multiple concussions. Everyone praises his past numbers before he was injured( Lots of passing yards, good decision maker, good leader etc.etc.) He starts and looks like a shell of his former self. We are virtually eliminated from the playoffs at mid season.
We get Pennington after double rotator cuff surgery. Everyone praises his past numbers before he was injured(Good leader, smart, accurate, high QB rating etc.etc.) All signs are are pointing to him as our starter................
IMO after our last couple of seasons it is highly critical to win games right away to build the confidence of new young players and regain cofidence from the ones still here. All I'm saying is would it be better to go with a healthy Qb from the start and let him control his record and success from the start instead of mid season throwing a guy into the fire when fans are pissed the media is all over us, and the team is down in the dumps and our vet goes on the shelf.(Beck was thrown into that last year and if history repeats itself I don't think we should do that to Henne this year). So are we playing with fire going with the patched up vet again and risking destroying our fragile confidence? I understand the logic of going with a vet ,and I know all these guys were good at one time, but the unhealthy part is what I find dangerous.Being done at midseason sucks I think if we could be at least .500 at halfway it would make a dramatic difference.I hope whoever is our starter gets off to a great start I just don't know it seems like deja vu, maybe a different approach is what we need. Do you guys like the direction our QB situation is going for this year , dislike it ,or are undecided?
