ok, so I'm just throwing a random scenario out there. Suppose that our QB situation is pretty similar next year and neither Joey or DC wow anybody. Suppose Houston keeps going on their downhill, Atlanta finally gets tired of Vick, and Jax has to rid themselves of a QB. That leaves David Carr, Michael Vick, and Byron Leftwich in the market (wether it's a trade or a FA pick-up). Who would you guys pick up?

Here is my sleeper pick if he comes out:

Hawaii Quarterback Colt Brennan Intends to Stay

Colt Brennan intends to stay at Hawaii and said it would take an "extraordinary situation" to make him forgo his senior season. However, he left the door open if he were to project as a first-round selection in April, saying, "you'd have to consider (applying for the draft). That doesn't mean I'd go, but you'd have to consider it.

I'd pick up a huge bottle of Pepto Bismal because it would be another year down the drain.

My order of who i would take would go like this.

1. Byron Leftwhich- He's been hurt physically but mentally he's fine. When he's in there and he's not hurt he's a pretty good QB. The mobility thing may be an issue but he knows how to get the ball out on time. He's also got a rocket for an arm which would let us stretch the field.

2. David Carr- He's a young QB with some NFL experience under his belt which is something that is highly valued. The one thing that's bad about his experience is that he's always on the ground. Somewhere down the line that has to get into a players head. He was benched in game earlier this season because he made some bad descisions(probably stemming from the lack of quality protection to make descisions).

3. Mike Vick- He's got all the ability in the world physically and is the type of player that gives defenses fits. He plays in the West Coast offense which is a thinking man's offense which IMO isn't the best part of his game. Joey Harrington said it best when he said "You have to improvise in the West Coast offense". That's part of why he dosen't always look good and another reason is his WRs who just plain suck.

None of them. I don't want re-treads. I want this franchise to do what it should've done when Marino was on his last legs: do what needs to be done to draft a franchise QB. Once again: DRAFT a franchise QB. As in DRAFT. Not trade for some other team's garbage. Once again, the operative word here is DRAFT.

Any of those three would make me puke!

Face it, if Culpepper and harrington don't cut it, we are screwed for years!

Hey here's an idea since we have a great QB in the making in JOEY HARRINGTON why not just stay with him instead of changing QB'S every year. I mean Damn show some support for the QB. Here try this when you watch the game look at Joey without the negetivity watch him move watch his motion as he throws look at his energy he has everything to be a great QB just show some damn loyalty

The problem with taking a guy from like a June Jones type offense there's a mentality issue that is hard to translate to the pros.

I mean here Colt Brennan has like, three throws on every set of downs to try and make a first down, while pushing the ball up the field.

In the NFL he's going to get like 1.5 throws. You're not afforded those opportunities to push the ball upfield and then when/if you don't get it, come back and make a first down with two more throws.

It's a lot tougher of a feel...to know when it is ok to take the shots and when it is not ok, and to strive to make every throw count.

So I mean, his stats look so good...72% completion, a 9.7 ypa, 53 TDs and 11 INTs...but how comfortable is he going to feel in a normal offense?

BTW I think Davone Bess is a guy you probably want to look at from that offense, eventually.

We Need To Draft A Qb Somewhere In This Years Draft. Harrington Is Too Inconsistant And Culpeppers Health Is A Major Question.

As a UH fan, I can tell you that to me, he is David Klingler. Don't want him.

some of you guys are crazy. david carr and byron leftwich make plays. im not a big fan of vick but the other two guys are both better than an qb weve had since 13. with the way our defense plays we dont need a a peyton manning we just need a guy who can make a play every once and a while and not give the ball away.
