In an appearance on ESPN’s “NFL Live”, Monday Night Football color commentator and Super Bowl winning Head Coach Jon Gruden spoke highly of the 27-year-old signal caller, as Gruden believes Tannehill is the most likely of any quarterback in the league to have a breakout season.
"I think he is ready to make the next step and I like what they've done with the system change and the offense that they're running with the up-tempo style,” said Gruden. "This kid is a dual threat, he can hurt you real bad running. I think he has an outstanding quick release, and he's got a very good supporting cast. They brought Greg Jennings, they've got some good lineman, and this system suits him well. I like Miami this year."
Tannehill is also catching the eyes of former stars at the quarterback position. In an interview with Greg Likens of The Finsiders, former Super Bowl winning quarterback Joe Theismann shared his thoughts on Tannehill’s steady rise since starting as a rookie back in 2012.
Theismann agrees with Gruden, believing Tannehill will be a special quarterback for the team for years to come, a prediction that the team and all Dolfans hope comes true.
"Ryan Tannehill I think going to be one of those special quarterbacks in the National Football League,” said Theismann. “He’s climbing that ladder very fast.”
Awesome to see these kind of comments. I think Ryan is going to have a great year.
