QB James Pinkney visited Miami

East Carolina's James Pinkney (Olympic Heights) were among the college prospects who participated last week in a workout at team headquarters.

Anyone know any news on this QB, I have never heard of him.

He is horrible, was the QB at ECU also went to high school in Palm Beach. I am a USF student and we played them in our bowl game, the guy is not an NFL talent.

I played with him in high school. he was a better safety than QB but got away with a lot in high school. i would not spend anything higher than a sixth rounder on him. he probally wont make a team but you never can tell with the qb position.

He could have gone to a much better school than ECU if he played FS but wanted to play the star postion and they were the best school willing to give him a chance. he may have the physical ability but not real bright. i would compare him to Adrian McPherson out of FSU

Nothing near to Marino. His role (if hired) should be to serve to throw the ball during training camps, because as today our only passers are Cleo, and newcomer Gibran Hamdan. DC won't be on our first mini camp and may lose many more dates.

He was the QB who was almost a part of a legendary story involving Calvin Johnson and borrowed shoes.

Pickney is 6'2" 211 lbs, had to learn 3 different offensive systems. Completed just under 60% of his passes last year in leading ECU to a bowl game against USF.
