The new Dolphins regime, which sees potential in John Beck, wants him to develop his body (size, strength, etc.), and Beck hired a trainer to do that. Beck -- one of the first two players to meet with GM Jeff Ireland ( Jason Taylor was the other) -- plans to stay mostly in South Florida for offseason work, but plans a brief Alaskan fishing trip with Csonka for Csonka's outdoor show.

''I was impressed how quickly the ball came out of Beck's hands,'' said former Packers GM Ron Wolf, who watched the Dolphins' finale with friend Bill Parcells. ``He's got a very, very quick release and some mustard on the ball.''

If Ron Wolf likes Beck, then I feel even better than him. Hopefully we can develop Beck and draft some talent behind him as well so that we can have some great QB play for years to come. WHAT A CONCEPT!!!

Anybody that wants to dump Beck already is really not being logical but its also not logical to not bring in another young guy based on what we have seen or not seen from beck so far. Beck is the only Qb we basically have on our roster now and no draft pick is a sure thing.

What should he prototypical size be for his hight? He is 6'2" 216lbs.

not that i wanted to get rid of him, but i just didnt know about beck yet. but seeing that ron wolf likes him, i think i just got excited about the kid again.

I hope we draft one late in the draft. I'm not one for Matt Ryan or any of those, but someone like a Matt Flynn in the later round could be a good way to pad the roster behind Beck.

i like dBeck coming out of BYU... throws a good ball, reads the field, accuate.... its tough coming into the NFL... its tough coming into the Dolphins situation. i hoping he can bounce back, work his booty off, and come out next season and toss up glory!!!!

but yes... someone needed to back him up still

Flacco, Dixon, Henne (not henne but if he falls far sure)

Nobody is saying "drop" him...we want to draft a starter and "keep" him as the "backup". At the very least, we want to bring in "competition" if anything. No one said "drop" him. U putting stuff in people's mouths. We want him, but as a backup.

Dixon....fuh get about it

I heard that Dixon will be playing baseball and has already signed with the braves. Anyone have info on this?? I do like Flacco though. I saw his performance yesterday and man is he huge.

he just needs to add some muscle i think he can do it he seems to have great work ethic

Matt Flynn out of LSU is probably the best value for a second day pick out there.

Flacco is a big project, a really big one, and you probably don't want to burn a second-rounder on him as a result. Brohm, in my opinion, would've easily been a top 10 pick if he came out last year, but has injury concerns. Henne is inconsistent, and who really knows what Brennan can bring to the NFL? You'd think we'd know by now, but we still don't.

Basically, there are no must-have QBs out there this year.

He looks bigger than Eli Manning .....but yeah, I think he could bulk up a little.
