QB Matt Leinart of USC

I wouldn't take him cause of bad decision making, but Chris Rix has the best talent of all the QB porspects. Size, speed, toughness, Arm Strength, and a quick release. This guy is flat out athletic.
I'm getting alittle nautious....:barf: Please don't say that anymore....:shakeno:

Get some FA O linemen and draft Cadillac. AJ will be servicable next year with a line to block. Rookie RBs can contribute immediately, while QBs take years. Our D does not have years to wait for a rookie qb (although some may arue AJ is one now).

Unless there is a John Elway/Peyton Manning coming out I'd say pass on the first round Q.B...grab one with one of the picks we get for trading down.

Are you kidding? Rix is complete poopy c0cky!! He'll be a 7th rounder at best.

Dan Orlovsky outta UCONN has all the talent, physicalities and leadership ability we need in a QB. He throws with great velocity and is very accurate. I take him in April.

Are we talking about the Rix that play for FSU? Because that Rix sucks. He makes 1 good throw for every 3 bad ones and has a bone head play thrown in there for good measure. But, he helped my canes make is easy with a not too much better Berlin. :/

Well I do think Rix is physically talented...but a complete mental IDIOT! Just a wate of physical talent...a la Ryan Leaf, Jeff George, Akili Smith and a bunch of other QB's who go nowhere.

I said Rix makes bad decisions, but the talent is there no doubt about it. The guy has a cannon for arm. He can make plays out of the pocket. Someone needs to settle him down and show him how to go through his reads. Go Canes.

He won't be 7th rounder but he will be mid round pick if he doesn't get his starting job back.

I'd go Kyle Orton...the kid can flat out throw the rock

He has looked good in college but he could be another Drew Brees.....

Andrew Walter has a really good arm and is playing very well right now. I would consider trading down and getting him (I don't know how low we could go and still get him though)

If we get a really high pick, we need to trade down. We don't have a second rounder and dealt one of our thirds (and it was ours too so we will keep the Bears one which should be in the middle of the third round). We need the extra picks, and I think we will be able to move down a few spots (if we are top 5) and still get a good QB.

What about Aaron Rodgers or the kid from Akron? Rodgers is a monster and I hear the kid from Akron is a beast. That being said, with our two first rounders (ASSUming we trade down) we need to get two top-flight OL. I say picking up Alex Barron and Eric Winston. I'd draft a project QB in the 4th or 5th round. Maybe a Rix or Berlin.

My bad Rix wasn't demoted. He might not be able to play because of the high ankle sprain.

a couple things...

First, Im pretty sure that Leinhart has already said he was going to stay through his senior year.. I am pretty sure I heard that, he would be a great pick up though IMO...

If were gonna have a top 10 pick, I say we trade down as far as possible while still being able to land either Cedric Benson, Cadillac Williams, or DJ Johnson.. One of those three players would be great for us..

I honestly want Benson, I say we draft him.. Trade Rickys rights away, give him #34 and pretend we never even lost Ricky.. Benson is a TOUGH inside runner who has got some speed and he is a gamer..

No more rookie OLineman, get some through FA so we have experiance and people who can step in right away.. Although or Oline looks awful right now, let them play together for a year before we pass judgement.. We have a completely new OLine, they need to adjust..

If Leinhart stays in school, we can draft one of those three I said, and we may even struggle again next year which will help us again in landing a franchise QB.. We have some glaring holes on our team, and if it takes a few down years to rebuild, I am willing to wait because you can only dominate for so long before you need to reload..

If we start adding some solid FA and draft well with our high picks, I think that we are going to be in good shape

If we have two first rounders and draft TWO Olineman I am gonna be furious.. Look at our 1st Rounder this year, hes sitting on the bench.. I want players who are gonna be able to come in and contribute.. For first round money, TWO Olineman who are gonna be near ineffective in year one is a waste IMO..

Ive already stated what I think

I'm all in favor of drafting our future franchise QB. But I think everyone here is crazy to think it'll help us immediately. With our aging defense (2-3 more years?) it doesn't leave us with a window to go to the SB. When was the last time a rookie QB came in and carried his team to the SB? Unnnhhh, Marino I think? Manning couldn't lift his team. Look at current young QB's who are improving, but not fast enough. Carr, Leftwich, Pennington, Boller (probably best comparison with baltimore's defense). WE need to bring in a veteran (kerry collins-type and a high draft pick QB). that way the veteran can lose 10 years of his life playing behind our line, while the rookie learns.
