For the first time I seriously think the Fins need to take a hard look at Matt Ryan. Yeah, we need defense across the board, o-line, and a few other things but they have to get the QB position filled.
The Giants D led the way yesterday but they also needed a very good QB
to lead them down the field with the game on the line. Sure, you can have a world class D and running game like Baltimore (2000) and Tampa (2002) and catch lightning in a bottle, but to have a consistant winner you have to have a real good QB. I'm not really sure about Beck. I want to believe but I'm just not sure.

The last three super bowl winning quarterbacks...

Ben Roethlisburger (11th overall)
Peyton Manning (1st overall
Eli Manning (4th overall)

I would agree with you if Beck was a proven bust but, nobody is ready to say that yet. I think Beck can get it done. I think he will be good with weapons around him. He has a great arm and awesome accuracy. I say we give him a chance.

They were calling Eli a bust about a month ago also. It takes young QB's some time to get it sometimes. I think we draft a QB, but much later in the draft. I think Beck will be fine.

Beck should still have an opportunity to win the starting job, but I am not against drafting another QB.

I disagree,I think we have our guy in John Beck, and appearantly Jeff Ireland and Dolphins agree, since they contacted him after the season. So I guess we have to see, I'd like to take that 1st pick and use it on Dorsey or Chris long, we are long at the tooth on d-line.

definitely agree. the verdict is still out on beck, and that might last until the season after next. i say we draft someone late-ish, like woodson, have him battle for the starting job with beck to light a fire under his butt, and have a veteran to mentor the young pups. dont know if green is the guy for that, so we might see a blast from the past.

We can, should, and will draft a QB this year. However, I think it will be in the later rounds. Neither Ryan, Brohm or any other QB are worth the #1 overall pick. If we stay put, I think Chris Long is our guy, but we will draft another QB this year.

Beck has just as much Talent IMO as Eli. Eli really straightened his crap out during the playoffs but altogether hes still not a QB who wows me in anyway. If he can get it done, Beck can get it done.

i just dont believe ryan is a top qb prospect, certainly not worth #1 overall. i dont have any links/facts/etc to back that up, he just hasnt impressed me.

i'd like to give beck a chance to prove he can or cannot play. if not, hell we'll probably be a 3-4 win next year again and back in the 1 hole. then, we go qb.

The Giants proved that a dominant defensive line that overpowers a good offensive line makes future Hall of Fame QBs look bad. We need to invest heavily in our offensive and defensive lines. We need a great QB, but a great QB means nothing if we do not improve our linemen.

The problem with this draft is I dont see any QB's better than Beck, at least not right now and not based off college stats. All the QB's this year are big projects and might as well develop your current project before moving on to a new one.

This is irrelevant really. Let me name a few quarterbacks drafted since 1999 and you tell me how they turned out.

1. Tim Couch - 1st Overall in 1999
2. Akili Smith - 3rd Overall in 1999
3. Joey Harrington - 3rd Overall in 2002
4. Cade McNown- 12th Overall in 1999
5. JP. Losman - 22 Overall in 2004

All are busts
