These are part of series of statistical analysis being done by Pro-Football-Focus...

From the site...
We’re going to examine quarterbacks from a number of situations before looking at each of them individually. The grades and numbers should reveal each quarterback’s strengths and weaknesses from the 2013 season.

Lots of information if you like that sort of thing...

By Down

Down and Distance

By formation

Based on Dropback, scramble, designed rollout

drop back depth

As more of the series is completed you can find the information here/

Ive been reading the articles/stats they have posted so far. Tannehill has pretty damn good rankings as a second year QB according to PFF. From what I have seen so far there is only one area where he received a negative grade.

PFF and Football Outsiders' film room both really like Tannehill. FO went as far as saying that they think Tannehill can be a top QB because he's demonstrated the ability to make up for failures surrounding him (their opinion, not mine). :idk:

In all actuality I feel the same way. Basicall the only thing i didnt see him improve on last year throughout the course of the season was the deep ball to Wallace. They get that timing down and this offense will be greatly improved and perhaps, dare i say, potent Here's to hoping Tannehill is the QB we have been waiting for since Marino retired.

There are still many who do not understand the deficiencies that have surrounded Tannehill since he has entered the NFL....he has no playmakers on offense except Mike Wallace and he didn't even have him his first year....he has a rather inconsistent run game and has had to deal with a relatively poor offensive line. If you add in having one of the least imaginative offensive coordinators and is amazing he has had the success he has had so far.

I'm sorry, he is also ****ty at reading a blitz. Against Caroilina, they were blitzing the corner about every third play and didn't stop for almost a quarter until Tannehill finally read it right once.

Over the last 2 years he's been in the top half of the NFL in producing against the blitz....I would say he is better then ****ty....

I would be shocked if Tannehill does not put up better #s this year.
i do think Tannehill overachieved with what he had last year.

This offense is suited for his skill set....he's smart with a very good arm...

Yeah, the blitz was not RT's problem, passing under pressure was. They are different.

Dr Phin if you remember who you replied to.

My goodness man. How can you look at the roster crap Tannehill had to deal w. the first two years and NOT see that he often makes up for failures surrounding him? Innumerable plays where guys would FAIL utterly in assignments around Tannehill and he would make a play or save a play from being a loss. He'd get the ball out quicker or stand an deliver while taking a hit. Over and over.

A large reason why Miami was in the running for a winning record last year was not the offensive talent across the board. It was improved play at QB (in spite of poor surrounding cast) -- best Miami has had in years.

There's a reason Hickey is loading up on OL, WRs, TEs and new RBs.

Hint: It ain't cause guys were making above-average plays all over the field last year. The poorest offensive roster in forever -- minus center, QB and Wallace.
